    Default interesting shovelware collections

So I was looking thru Amazon and I stumbled upon this:

    http://www.amazon.com/Arcade-Games-C...927285&sr=8-12

Huh. So someone thought Mega Man 3 was worth putting on CD-ROM (I'm assuming its the version by Hi-Tech Expressions).

If this collection included Mega Man 1 as well, it would be kinda cool for Capcom enthusiasts who want to see some of the more obscure shit bearing their names.

I've seen the loose MM3 CD go for $10 on eBay. Now I know where it came from...

You wouldn't be saying that if you'd actually played the DOS games. Hi-Tech Expressions-published games made LJN stuff look like masterpieces.

Edit: And I bet you some of those CDs only contain five to ten MB of data, tops. They're a TOTAL WASTE OF PLASTIC in more ways than one.

Y'know, CD Access still has MM3 on floppies, and it's cheap.

Not sure why that collection is worth so much. The first valuable collection that springs to my mind is The Laptop Collection, which for a while was the last legal release of the expansion for Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri.

Yeah I'm sure that collection is getting price-jacked.

I've also heard that a Street Fighter collection (containing PC ports of SF1 and 2) includes both the Mega Man games on CD-ROM. So that's probably a much better bet.

EDIT: I checked the CDAccess link. Thing is, they're selling just the floppy in a paper sleeve. Since Floppy games have a high failure rate, they're only worth getting if you're getting a complete package.

It's worth so much because Amazon sellers are worse than eBay sellers.

Alpha Centauri + Planetary Pack used to be worth quite a bit in the past, but the price tanked after someone in Europe reprinted it on a budget release.
