There's this guy, but I believe he posted he was wanting almost $500 for the Xbox, which, IMO, is a little steep.

No IMO about it $500 is laughable. Modded Xbox = $50-80 depending on quality and type of xbaax / peripherals.

i got a hard modded xbox. i paid 50 for. so im thinking 100 would be a good price to a upgraded xbox. 500 is way to high and since roms are free to download thats a straight up joke.

I'm 99% sure I have them all brand new and in storage at my parent's place. Shoot me an offer if you're interested, I'll look for them when I'm over there tomorrow.

I have one, but shipping an Xbox to Canada is going to be expensive.

Oh, I agree. I was just trying to be a little more politically correct.

    Softmod+larger hdd=bad idea.

Soon as that drive dies you'll have to put in a modchip as the ability to flash the TSOP relies on a lockable hdd with the key stored in the EEPROM ultimately booting from the TSOP.

That is, unless it is a 1.0 or 1.1 and you have a 29 wire modchip. I've got two for just such occasions.
I fix things. You name it, I'll work on it. Want something modded? Recapped?

Yea, chips are cheap enough these days, and unless you have a v1.6 xbox, rather easy to install. I've had to fix a few soft-modded xboxs because of the uninformed owner deleting needed files. And once they're gone, you need a chip to fix it.

I think I'm going hold off on the Xbox search. I want this thread closed. Timber I'm interest in those controllers but I'm strapped for cash. I'll pm you down the road about them.

As long as you have the original hard drive you're fine. I put in large hard drives in my softmodded xboxes all the time and have zero concern if they die. That being said of course I have a modchip, but I haven't used that thing in so many years I can't even remember when.

That being said, I think used xboxes are 20-30 bucks. Shove in the price of a hard drive and there's your cost. Populating it with worthwhile content though, that's the price of admission.

Thing is, NE146, few people do keep the original drive around. I do as I usually can find a use for 8gb drives but I always do a TSOP flash or a modchip install. Never a softmod except for use in the process of doing a TSOP flash.
