    Sonic 3 & Knuckles (using Sonic) 9/10

First time beating it fully with Sonic and it was totally worth it, that final fight was unexpectedly awesome. I don't like the bonus stage as much in this as in Sonic 2, and some stage designs seem there just to piss people off but overall, probably the best of the MD titles when combined like this.

    Spriggan Powered (SFC) 6.5/10

While the Risky Tech feature (gain bonus points for flying close to enemy bullets) is fun, this doesn't do anything new and the stages are mostly very simple as is the weapon system. Seems like it's more fun on Hard though so I'll try that some time.

Completed The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time today on the Zelda Collector's Edition for GameCube, on GameCube. I was missing 18 pieces of heart, what I assume is Nayru's magic, the 4th bottle, what I assume are the ice arrows, and I did not complete the trading game to get the final sword.

I am disappointed in myself since I much rather would have played this before The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess because I feel this game challenges the player in ways neither of those games do (moreso TWW). There is very little hand holding, despite Navi, and it encourages the player to figure things out on their own and so forth. I also appreciate the fact it's more close in style and execution to A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening, two games I quite enjoy.

It was great ride and the final battle, it was pretty damn cool. Not sure where I'll go from here, perhaps Majora's Mask or maybe something completely different.

    1. Kendo Rage (SNES) 1/31

I guess I'm off to a slow start for 2012, but oh well. It was nice to finally beat Kendo Rage. Most of the game is pretty easy, but that boss rush is a pain, even more so considering the final boss at the end has three forms. This game seems like the sort where you really benefit from getting through the rest of the game without losing any lives (or very few) so you can have a stockpile of lives greater than what you get with a fresh continue.

    2/3 - Superman (SEGA Genesis)

I checked the review scores on GameFAQS after I bought this, and all three of them gave it a 2/10. I'd say that's a bit harsh... it's simply completely average in every way. I picked it up for 25 cents at a Habitat For Humanity thrift store, though, so I'm not going to complain. It was totally worth it.

Wow, I am forgetful. Here is what I've done since my last post.

Super Mario 3D Land beaten (3DS)
Sonic Generations all challenges beaten (PS3)
Lego Star Wars III beaten (3DS)

Those of you playing Mario 3D Land, it gets harder. Lego Star Wars III is kind of repetitive and too short, but that's the handheld version.

    Beat:
1.Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Time/ Almost Seasons too, but burned out, so taking time off at very last level; "Sword and Shield Dungeon".

    2. Metroid 4: Fusion for GBA (awesome game!!! everyone who likes/loves Metroid needs to play this game). Beat last week and 1/2 ago.

    3. Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance (still looking for all furniture pieces to awaken Drac for real ending. I think the furniture collecting is dumb. Game is ok, but I'm going to but 'Aria of Sorrow' off e-bay next month).

I'm on a GameBoy Advanced love affair right now. Playing Resident Evil 4 (best RE game if only they were zombies) and Shining Force GBA (worth getting if you liked the original for Sega. It has a much better storyline).

On one hand, it's much more playable than the first Phantasy Star, with better music and visuals. On the other hand. On the other hand, holy crap the grind is massive. I've been told that this is regarded as the worst game in the series, but I don't think it's that bad. It needs help, yes, but it's still a rather nice game.
Keep playing. It has the best storyline outta the series. And if you don't have the booklet that came with the original sega game, I don't know how you can beat it before Thanksgiving of this year.
The first Phantasy Star is ok, but it was stupid that you have to buy the Ice Digger and Land Rover.
How far are you into PS 2? Up to the dams yet? Just curious...

You don't need the furniture for that. For Drac, you need to collect all of his body parts/relics and wear both JB's Bracelet and MK's Bracelet.

The ONLY thing the furniture does is that if you have it all the girl in the ending will lean against you instead of standing next to you. Seriously, that's it. Most people don't even notice the difference until it's pointed out to them.

Completed the 44th stage in Bangai-O on Dreamcast today. I've had the game six years and every so often I'd peck a few more stages away. Yesterday I carried on from 38 and today from 41 to the end. The final stage is a real cracker since it's tough, long, and the final boss can easily annihilate you in under a second.

This game has it all - comedy, great 2D graphics, huge explosions, and robots. I'm also quite pleased about the extra options that are unlocked after beating it, giving you the option to give Mami her shot type from the N64 version, now that's damned cool.

Finished Duke Nukem Forever on "Normal" today. Hardest FPS normal difficulty I've ever played. Jesus. DNF is essentially a game full of cheap, one-hit deaths, "put-Skyrim-to-shame" loading times, and frustratingly annoying FPS puzzles. That being said...it's not a terrible game overall (better than the reviews would lead you to believe), just one that I have no interest in playing again. I can't even imagine how infuriating this game would be on the hardest two difficulty levels. Ugh.

Better than the previous too games in the series combined. Vastly better visuals, music and interface. More coherent story and the characters actually have personalities. Great game and worth the slog through 1 and 2 to get to.

I totally agree...only I feel the complete opposite of all of that you just said. Phantasy Star III is the worst title in the series, IMO.
