Default Sega Dreamcast Divers 2000 console

So, I would love to have one of these in my collection and I found one currently for sale on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dreamcast-Di...#ht_500wt_1413

Has anyone seen any of these sell and typical know what they've gone for? $4,000 is a hefty price to pay, but I'm not sure how many of these versions were even manufactured.

That's way too high. They are actually not that uncommon and still pop up pretty often on Yahoo auctions Japan, many NIB. I paid $500 for mine NIB just after the Dreamcast was discontinued and shipping from Japan was another $150. I would say $750-$800 shipped is about right. You should watch Yahoo Japan auctions and you can always use a service to bid on and get the items to you. It will be a fraction of the $4K price this guy is asking.

Thanks for the heads up Bo. I never used Yahoo Japan. When you say use a service to bid on it get the items to me, does that mean I can't use the Japanese site from the US? or because of the language barrier do you mean?

There's services like Rinkya which you have to use as a proxy bidder because a lot of YAJ sellers won't ship outside of Japan. So basically the proxy wins for you, you pay them for the item plus a fee on top, and they send it to you.

That's how I understand it to work, anyway.

That's exactly right. In fact, Rinkya is the service I used to purchase the Divers 2000 as well as a bunch of other higher priced items back when I was actively collecting Japanese stuff a few years ago.
