Well, Nintendo might be releasing a new Gamecube in Japan:
Nintendo announced they are planning to release a new Hanshin Tigers Victory Commemoration 2003 version of GameCube in Japan this fall, for 27,700 yen. The system will only release if the Hanshin Tigers becomes the champion of the Japanese baseball league in 2003, the question mark logo on concept images below will be replaced by the "victory memorial logo", which is currently unknown.
Go Hanshin! There was also a Neo-Geo Pocket Hanshin Tigers version made some years back. As of Tuesday, the Tigers were 17.0 games ahead of Yakult in the Central division. So, this may actually happen this year.
