    Default Oscilloscope Question

So I've got 7 sega saturns that do not read discs, a couple of PS2s that don't, three Sega CD's that do not read, and one Dreamcast that does not read discs. I already know how to blindly adjust the potentiometer but I cannot stand that process.

I am looking to buy an oscilloscope to adjust the lasers. I have a few questions hopefully somebody can answer my questions.

1- What kind of oscilloscope should I buy?
2- What should I be looking for when adjusting the laser with it?
3- Just for accuracy, is there any videos on this? I've checked youtube and saw nothing.

    Thanks everybody, much appreciated!

    1. I'd personally go with an analog scope, 20MHz or higher (I prefer Tektronix, but any brand would probably be fine). A good used one shouldn't be too expensive. Digital scopes are nice, especially since they're small and pretty portable, but for this kinda thing, I prefer my analog scope.

    2. You're looking for a good eye pattern.

    3. Not sure, but this link should have the info you need: http://secondchancecritic.com/freestuff/ps2repairguide/ .
