We've got a 3DS 3D-centric exclusive, a re-visitation of the point & click adventure genre of the 80s/90s featuring one of the most popular film trilogies of the 80s/90s, HD/Online versions of Genesis, Saturn and Dreamcast favorites, and some very unique PC & XBOX 360 exclusives.
When the dust from this crazy tussle settled there was one title standing ... and building ... and crafting.
After a long period in public beta, developer Mojang AB's Minecraft has spent the better part of the year drawing people in and stealing their free time away brick-by-brick.
A Cinderella story of independent game development if there ever was one, and all eyes are on designer Markus "Notch" Persson to see what he brings us next. (Personally I'm hoping for more neat merch, like a Minecraft themed breakfast cereal with different brick-shaped marshmallow bits and a free Creeper toy inside every box.)
