Well ive had mine for a few days now and have come away thoroughly impressed. I loved my psp and the vita just blows it out of the water. currently i have rayman origins, uncharted, and marvel vs capcom 3.

does anyone else have theirs yet? and if so what are you playing and what do you think of it?

I've had mine for over a month (bought the Japanese WiFi one) and love it. I mostly play Hot shots Golf right now but I also have -

    Ridge Racer (JP)
Hot Shots Golf (JP & US)
    Uncharted (JP)
    Wipeout (US)
    Little Deviants (US)

Other than graphics Are these games any different than the ones that have been out for (in some cases) years now?

Fucking digging it, but man, I can't wait for Sony to ramp up the compatibility.

Out of the ZILLIONS of Minis and downloadable PSP games that I own on the PSN only a few (six or seven) are available at launch. I know that they're going to expand that in the future up to and including PS1 games, but for now I'm going to say I'm impatient.

Also, unlike the PSP which is more seamlessly recognized/integrated into the PS3 in a plug-play kind of way, the Vita seems to need to do all the file management via its on-board content manager app, which is fine, but just a bit annoying when its USB cord is like 3 feet long and I'm sitting 5-6 feet away from my PS3.

Also, a lot of compatible stuff won't let you download it from the "download history" list but you can download it just fine from the Vita's PSN store. Odd.

I spent so much time with the setup, exploring the onboard features/content and downloading the games that I could that I haven't really had a chance to play with the Vita games I bought. I'll do some of that tomorrow. But man, I'll say this the MINI Burnin' Rubber (Bump & Jump) looks and plays great on the OLED screen!

So far, Vita seems awesome. Other than slightly wonky UI and download/copy options, everything was a breeze. Now it's time for bed.

From what this article states, there are a lot of things that aren't on the Vita store that CAN be played on the Vita. You need to download them to the PS3 under the regular mini's and PSP downloads and then transfer them to the Vita that way as they're not officially supported and under the Vita moniker. Supposedly a lot of the stuff works this way.

Everything in the above post is opinion unless stated otherwise.

    Fucking SWEEEEEET brother.

Echochrome and Capcom Classics! Two of the games that I WANTED to transfer but weren't on the list work apparently. Gonna go do that right stat.

    Thanks man.

Yes, they're all new/original games in their respective series, though from what I understand Ridge Racer only contains three classic tracks and allows for the user to purchase additional tracks via DLC. I believe that the US release is getting retooled with more tracks and original content.

I was reading the reviews for Ridge Racer, it got slammed! Too bad as it use to be one of the best racers on PSone.

To anyone interested in MLB: The Show, note that all of the cutscenes were removed. Even after a home run, the game just moves along without any celebration or running of the bases. Completely takes away the feel of baseball. It's one thing to speed it up for portable players, but it's another to not include this stuff at all. Hopefully they get it right next year.

Are you F'ing serious? Wow... This was one of the few games that was tempting me towards a Vita. Playing a season with my S.F. Giants. But no cutscenes? Weird...

I don't have my machine yet, but I've got wipeout, and I've been notified that Touch My Katamari is available for pickup today.

How's Rayman? And, more importantly, how's the online features? Can you download PSP games on it?

I got mine last week. It's an amazing machine. Love the feel of it and look. I think people with bigger hands may have an issue gripping the back since the you aren't really suppose to touch the touch panel all the time. I picked up Uncharted, Little Deviants, ModNation, Katamari, and Hot Shots. I am really enjoying all the games but Uncharted is the cream of the crop. It's addicting and fun, and just a great game. Looking to get Rayman soon as it is a fantastic game as well.

Is the screen any better quality than say the 3000 or Go?

Looks like a nice little handheld. Hopefully they get emulation figured out on it soon. Or at least a way to boot into PSP mode so that you can run the emulators that it's already got.

You know Billy Madison? When Sandler gets all excited for nudie magazine day?

That's me right now, but instead, it's new game console day.

The wait is always the worst part for new hardware. I get all jittery. I have Uncharted already and I'm waiting on Target to put out the rest of the launch day stuff, or Amazon to include them in the B2G1 sales. Wanted Hot Shots and Wipeout but won't do it because they include online passes. I'll probably snag Dynasty Warriors, Lumines, and Marvel/Capcom in the end. GameFly has Army Corps of Hell on the way to me now as well.

The screen is miles ahead of the interlaced mess that is the 3000. Can't speak for the Go.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Mad Catz or someone release an UMD drive attachment down the line. It would be a battery killer, but the benefits would outweigh the negative.

while the hardware is amazing (although the issues such as updates bricking some) worries me the cost is also high especially with those damn memory cards of sony's/ So likely I will buy a 3DS first. that said I loved psp and I want one of these eventually.

I'm just amazed that they are already selling games, and have been for a week. I'll probably end up getting one, probably after the first price drop.

It looks really, really promising. Then again, that's what people said about the PSP, and I found nothing to play on that for years.

I can't imagine it ever getting a UMD drive attachment. Too cumbersome and too limited of a market for Sony to bother with (If it's even practical to start with from a technical point of view). Much of the world has left the PSP behind and many of the most popular games are available as downloads to satsify those with an interest in playing PSP software on their Vita.

I suppose the only thing that might change that situation is Japan where the PSP is still popular.
