    Default EverDrive 64

I don't think there have been many N64 flash carts, and I think this is the first one to ever gain widespread use. Stone Age Gamer is all sold out of them except for the deluxe version, they cost around $170. Strangely enough, they sell a version without the CIC chip or case for $70! Those are out of stock. I suppose all one would have to do it find any N64 game, take its CIC chip, solder it in place, and it would work. I'll probably get that version.

Here's a review of it, anyone here ever use it?

Who is selling them for $70? The board wholesale costs more than that. The normal price for no-CIC is around $100.

What are the chances a version will come that works with the entire library of games? I have no problem dropping a good sum on something like this but if I do I'd rather it be a one time thing.

It's been said that a 64drive with a 6105 CIC installed is compatible with the whole library, though it's a bit more expensive than the Everdrive and comes in a less "complete" package. Mine has been ordered but I'm not expecting it for a month or two. I did a lot of research debating which of the two carts I would get and I figured that krikkz and stoneagegamer offer so many solutions for so many systems that they'd get plenty of my money in the future and the 64drive seemed like the better of the two for me.

That said, the two incompatible games aren't terribly hard to find for less than ten bucks each. I know that ruins the dreams of 100% compatibility, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Yeah, I know. It's not so much about the specific games but more about my desire to go the Ronco route and "set it and forget it." I feel like the rat race with these things, especially given the price, is somewhat off putting. I'd plunk down a solid sum if it means I can avoid having to concern myself with subsequent releases/revisions/etc.

64drive is way backordered. Happens when there's just one guy making them.

He is still working on a version of firmware that works with the 6105 to allow that compatibility. The current firmware does work with the 6105, but the issue is that it loses compatibility with some 6103 games in the process. I know he has been very busy with other stuff, but it is something that he does want to fix.
