Default Mario Party glove? anyone remember this?

Now, I cant remember which Mario party it was, but it was the one that had the notorious game that tore the skin from the middle of your palm while you turned it. I remember when nintendo addressed this and said if you send them a piece of paper tracing your hand, they would give you and appropriate fitting glove. I did this and received a black finger tipless glove that was kind of like a weight lifting glove. anyone else do this or remember this??

I do remember this- I think it was for the first Mario Party, AKA "The Game That Killed Your N64 Analog Stick."

I replace N64 sticks all the time. One of the easiest things to fix anymore, you can find some quality replacements that look exactly like the original stick.

Yeah... it was the first Mario Party. I even remember the mini game in question... it was the raft paddling game. I just knew at the time that would be an analog stick killer heh.

Where can one find these? I have a handful of controllers that could use new sticks...

It was more than one minigame. If I recall correctly, Tug-o-War and Piranha Peril killed your palm as well.

I don't recall the hand tracing bit, but, yeah, Nintendo Power had a small blurb about it in the Player's Pulse section. In fairness to Nintendo and the game, I'm sure they never intended for the player to move the stick with his/her palm. Not that grinding the stick in circles wouldn't be bad for the stick regardless, but I'm sure it wouldn't be quite so damaging using the proper controller grip. And, of course, injury wouldn't be a concern.

The only replacements I've seen that looked identical to the original stick are original sticks pulled from used controllers and sold to unsuspecting buyers.

New replacements have a significant problem, they aren't nearly sensitive enough.

We played Mario Party 1 and 2 quite a bit and never had any problems with our palms or the analog sticks. I don't recall anyone actually using their palm, though.
