    Default PlayStation "Dual Analog" Controller

I earlier today I won an eBay lot that going by the picture has one of the supposedly uncommon Dual Analog (not Dual Shock) controllers for the original PlayStation. I have heard that these are somewhat valuable but I can't find any listings on eBay that are for the actual Dual Analog rather than Dual Shock controllers. If it's worth more than a few dollars it will probably offset most of the cost of the lot if I decide to sell it. Can anyone give a rough price range?

It's worth $5, maybe $10 if someone is actively looking for one. It's rare but not that sought after. This seems to get asked every few months.

Thanks for the reply. I've got two, one bought when first available and still have. And picked one up at a pawn shop for $5 and works great. I couldn't find any value either so you helped alot, thanks again.

There's just some difficult to acquire things few own or want. Be on the lookout, not ripped off! Such items appear so rarely they have a chance of going for prices disguising the real scarcity.

Oh, I understand that. The lot would have been worth what I paid for it regardless. I've just been trying to go for lots where I can part out things I don't want to recoup some/all of the cost rather than going for specific games lately, and if it were worth selling separately I would have done that.

Pretty much the same deal I would imagine, except much more common because they were produced for several years compared to just around 1 for the Dual Analog.

Original non-dual shock controllers would be worth $1-$5. An independent thrift near me has one for either $1 or $2 and it's been there for months, I don't need it so I never bothered buying it. They usually sit at other more popular thrifts for weeks at $3-$4 each, it seems spare PS1 hardware doesn't sell well unless it's already a complete package. They only sell if someone is actually looking for one, nobody picks these up for spare parts like with Nintendo controllers or hookups.

Considering my local Walmart still sells Dual Shock 2s (which work fine on 98% of PlayStation titles) this doesn't surprise me at all.

Are we are talking about the PS1 Dual Analog not the PS2 version with the missing motors?

I own two of the PS1 Dual Analogs. Anyone who spots one in the wild should grab it due to rarity. Larger handles, different triggers, concave sticks and a beautiful green light. It has THREE MODES compared to the Dual Shock's two modes. The Dual Analog also supports the PSX Flight Stick Mode, great for Descent Max.

That's the one I was referring to anyway.

A green light you say? This thing sounds better and better the more I hear about it. Should arrive on Monday.

The difference is on a technicality. PS2's non rumble controller doesn't have "Dual" in its name.
