Default I'm thinking of getting out of 2600 collecting

I have many game systems and not so much time to play any of them, and am considering clearancing my 2600 stuff because it is just so old that I do not play it anymore at all. This is a little hard because 2600 was my first system and somehow I feel like a traitor for turning my back on it. I just enjoy later gen systems better, especially those that got into multi-screen and platform gaming that the 2600 could not do well. Have any of you ever thought of getting rid of older gaming stuff because you just don't play it anymore?

I have a somewhat analogous problem. I have a fairly decent collection of 2600 games (150+) but my Atari 2600 system has screwed up controller ports. As much as I'd like to buy another 2600 that is fully functioning, I just wouldn't play it enough to justify the purchase. My favorite games are on anthologies or emulation, and, yeah, it would be cool to play the games on the original hardware, but it wouldn't be that cool. At the time being, I'd rather spend the money elsewhere. With that said, I can't see me ever parting with my 2600 collection. It was THE first video game system I owned, and I am way too sentimental to say adios to it. My hope is to come across a cheap 2600 in the wild one day, solving the "dilemma."

You didn't find the $15 2600 Jr. that Rickstilwell1 was selling to be cheap enough?
