Hi, I just saw this on ebay, what the hell is this thing and why is it so expensive??
Is this a bridge system between MicroVision and Atari Lynx? I saw a video on youtube of it in action. Is it really a color system?
Thanks for any info..

Minor nit: it's not branded "Palmtex" anywhere, plus the pix of the Palmtex PVS show some differences. I'm not convinced the PVS was ever released; I suspect Palmtex went out of business before releasing it, but another company came along, bought out the stock, and remaindered them.

While awaiting replies here, I checked with Rik Morgan of the Handheld Museum, and he said its so rare, that to see just the instruction booklet to it would be a treat to most game collectors. The stock wasn't bought out by anyone as it was only released ONCE in very limited numbers. Less than 500 were produced, PERIOD.. I have to see where my funds are at this time and try to make an offer.
SF
And yet the magazines talked about the Palmtex "PVS", but what was released was the Home Computer Software "Super Micro". Sounds like HCS bought out what Palmtex never released.
Where did you get that number? If from Rik, where did HE get that number?Less than 500 were produced, PERIOD..
The Super Micro is rare, I'll admit. But a Palmtex -- actually badged "Palmtex" would be more rare. This ain't it.

I have one of these actually. It says Super Micro on the front (just like in this auction) and on the bottom, where the serial number is, it says Palmtex, with a patent pending date of 1983. I have the same box as in this auction as well.
I emailed the seller about it being "badged" Palmtex and he said it was marked Palmtex in 2 areas.
I'm thinking this would be more like 600-650 piece than 990.00.
Still waiting on my Tax Money... ITS LATE as usual. Heaven forbid that you were late with them....
I see that seller re-posted the system.
Added another picture of Palmtex on the unit. So much for the name on the package when you have it on the unit itself.
I found that some people claim the 4th game was released, but NO ONE has a picture of it. Kind of hard to fake a protp for a proprietary system such as this. We shall see if I'm the new owner. Cheers
The sticker on the unit is why I think Palmtex MEANT to sell, but went under, and Home Computer Software picked up the unit and sold it as the Super Micro. Find me a Palmtex box, game, instructions... I don't think they exist.

I have one, so I know they exist. I have the box, 3 games, and the unit itself. In fact, in another thread I posted today about displaying game ideas, I think there is a picture of it:
