Just wanted to drop in and give everyone an idea of what Retro Gaming Magazine is, in case anyone hasn't heard about it. RGM is a new magazine about, well, retro games. We are preparing for launch sooner than later (quality takes time) and will be hovering around the 40 page mark for content.

Here is the Table of Contents for our first issue:

Bill Kunkel tribute (still accepting comments from anyone that knew him and would like to offer support)
Zelda feature (meat of the issue covering Zelda from NES to Wii)
A contest co-sponsored by our friends at Rolenta Press (http://www.rolentapress.com)
Tribute to Gary Garcia (still trying to gather assets if anyone can help, he co-wrote Pac-Man Fever)
Atari 5200 Feature (more meat of the issue)
First Issues of Popular Gaming Mags Values article by Martin Alessi
Day of the Tentacle article
Wonder Boy for Genesis article

As you can see, RGM is not going to be like other retro magazines that are available. We are not going to be producing white pages with two or three columns of text and sparsely spreading out pics of the games. We also aren't satisfied with two page spreads being called "features", we are going with a lot more than that (there is simply too much history to the focus of our feature articles to cram into two page spreads).

The managing staff of RGM is currently from two of the most iconic gaming magazines ever published, Electronic Gaming Monthly and Gamefan Magazine. The staff is a mix of unpublished new writers and people that have been involved in making gaming history.

Martin Alessi, Art Director, helped establish Electronic Gaming Monthly as one of the premiere gaming publications in the early 90's.
Nick Abrams, Assistant Editor and co-owner, is a former retro writer for Gamefan Magazine (Issue #6) and co-owner of the Video Game Cowboys website. Nick is also a co-host of the popular show, The Retro League podcast.
Carl Williams, Editor in Chief and co-owner, is a former managing retro editor for Gamefan Magazine (Issue #6) and is also co-owner of Video Game Cowboys.
Michael Crisman, Retro Scribe, is a former retro writer for Gamefan Magazine (Issue #6).

Additional staff include Dustin Vogler (who worked on a lot of the Zelda feature) who is well known in the podcasting world from his work with Classic L337 and guest appearances on shows such as The Retro League.

Upcoming issues will feature well known gamers such as Nintendo Legend (we have him on special assignment involving guns, whips, a family legacy and aliens) and more former staff of publications such as EGM and Gamefan and more independent writers that catch our eye.

A taste of the direction we are going, here is the cover of the first issue (some titles mentioned are subject to change)
