Mega Drive games, yes. I'm pretty sure the GG would allow you to play most, if not all, of the early games, but around '93-'94 Sega started the whole localization lockout (the games I have that have the lockout and require my adaptor are Golden Axe III and Alien Soldier), and I'm really not sure if the GG would let you get past that. Maybe someone else here knows...

Yes, the Game Genie acted as a pass-through converter for imports, and I even think that there were codes to enable late-generation titles like Alien Soldier. Check out the Import Games FAQ over at GameFAQs.

However, I've noticed a problem with my Genie. When playing Phantasy Star III or IV, it won't let me save the game. Of course, it could just be my unit, since I actually found it in the garbage at EB.

Does the Game Genie allow for those games with Territory Lock-Out?

The main game I want "Mega Man: The Wily Wars" is listed as having that

I have a ROM of it on my old comp, but I'd rather have the cartridge. (read THAT one, video game industry)

I also HIGHLY want the original releases of the Final Fantasy series (II and III for the Famicon), along with the Super Famicon ones, and the Dragon Quest games which weren't released in the US....but of course, I couldn't translate them, so I would need hacked ROM's instead. Of course they could reissue them, but then they are 'messed with' like FF Origins was. The text is changed, added scenes, etc. I'd rather have a 'pure' version of the original.

Check the FAQ that Kid Fenris provided a link to - I'm positive I saw Game Genie codes for MM: TWW there.

Oh, and Manimal - I may be able to help you out regarding FF3 for the Famicom. Drop me a PM when you get a chance.

I just got a PM. I'm assuming it's from you. I'll answer it in a minute or two.

I checked that site above earlier today, but I was able to check out a few pages. I tried one of them (regarding mods) and it was a .pdf. It didn't load for me. Will try again later.

Yeah, that was me. Funny, but below your image it says you're offline. Odd.
