Default Mortal Kombat 3 PROTOTYPE RELEASE (SNES)

Hi, I just want to share my prototype of Mortal Kombat 3 on SNES, you can download the ROM on my website, you can also read my article (in french) about it and look at the videos.

The ROM doesn't work with Snesx9x 1.53 and 1.52 but work fine with 1.51 and also with ZSNES and bsnes.

Google translation ( not very accurate translation )

If you see any problems, please feel free to tell me what is wrong, thanks and have fun.

For the people who haven't see it, I have also a prototype of Yoshi's Cookie available here:

Great article. I'm actually surprised to see the game in as complete of shape as it is (it apparently got released in October 1995, and the arcade version came out in April).

One thing to search for is the Graveyard stage, which was not in the final version. There is a thread on DP about it:

<Evan_G> i keep my games in an inaccessable crate where i can't play them

Yeah, I heard of the Graveyard stage, but I don't know how to dig in the game to check if it is actually here, I hope someone here can do it, I'm curious.
Thanks for your feedback Evan !

According to The Cutting Room Floor, the final build of MK3 was assembled on August 2nd, 1995. I guess that means the game was probably pretty much done by the time your build was made. I'll see if I can hack a stage select code to see if the missing level is in there.

Are SNES protos usually that large? That beast looks huge even compared to a NES prototype.

Yeah, that type of proto board is fairly common, especially for 32 Mbit games.
