I followed this link when I was reading a review on the n-gage, www.n-gage-special-forces.com - Apparently, Nokia is hiring people to go out and demonstrate the game to people and talk it up... It seems like a pretty cool gig.

It sounds alright, I signed up a few days ago.
Hmm, interesting... I'll be out on a college campus again all next year. Maybe Nokia will bite. Heh.
That would be the only way you would get me to play the system...that or until it bombs and the price drops to under $100.
The system looks ok from what I have seen, nothing spectacular however. The price is what really gets me. No way I will pay $300 for it. That's enough to get a next gen system, a Gameboy Advance SP, and a game for each!
It's got some interesting features. I'll give it a shot before I give it an opinion. And if Monkey Ball is coming out for it, it's fine by me. Hopefully there will be enough interest so that it doesn't suffer from Game.com syndrome.
The only reason I don't care about it is because I already have everything it offers. I have a cell phone, a pda that plays mp3's, and a Gameboy. And there's no way I'm paying $300 for a handheld. Maybe people will buy into it becuase of the all in one mentality, but I'm not going to buy something I already have. And on top of that, the games don't even look that interesting. If I want to play sonic, I'll buy sonic advance...monkey ball, monkey ball jr. And the 3D games look weak. But thats just my opinion. I wouldn't mind them to prove me wrong, and then like I said, when the price goes down maybe I'll pick one up. And I'm pretty sure it won't take long for that to happen because of two reasons. One, the price, nuf said. Two, they are going up against a well established name brand gameboy with a ridiculously huge game library. But once again ths is just my opinion.
Yeah, that's the kind of thing that concerns me, too. Hopefully they realize that they'll have to market it as a trumped up cell phone, and not a trumped up Gameboy. If they can get a foot in the door with that approach, then they might have a winner on their hands.
Yep I agree, I have no problem with some more competition...it usually means more great games, but that damn price will always scare me away.
I signed up. I personally think the N-Gage is going to suck, but I could deal with borrowing one for a few months and getting paid to play it in public places. Plus, I'm a pretty good salesman anyway. Hell, maybe once I've had it for a few months, I'll fall in love without. But I doubt anything can be good enough for me to pay $300 for it.
I wouldn't mind pitching a product, but only if I genuinely think it's something good. I refuse to push things that I know are utter shit.
I remember when I used to have morals.
I enjoyed filling out the survey until I got to page 5. Then it became too much like work so I quit and went back to work.
I filled it out,but since I am 16 I doubt they will pick me.
Based on the questions I read, your age is probably an advantage.Originally Posted by Six Switch

According to various studies I've read recently, you're pretty much in line with most American thinking. Americans (US and Can) will typically go for the freebie phone when they sign up for cellular service. Europeans, on the hand, are typically more into intergration. Europeans will typically shell out 100 Euro for a phone with more advanced features. The only reason I don't care about it is because I already have everything it offers. I have a cell phone, a pda that plays mp3's, and a Gameboy.
If they get it out in Europe, in would probably be a big hit. Not sure if they're planning to, however.

I signed up but who knows. What I want to know is how will they ever know if you are doing the job or not?
The only place I've seen the system and games displayed are game stores, and I wasn't under the impression that you buy a phone plan when you get the system, since they have it for pre-orders and its full price, and that I wouldn't expect a game store to have phone plans. So I don't know where you can get a deal like that...maybe if they carry it at circuit city or best buy. As far as I know its not being marketed as a phone, but as a game system...thats why its not at a phone store, and why I don't think the deal will happen. They'd probably be better off doing the opposite of what their doing now and market it as a phone.Originally Posted by Tom61
Which cell-phone service providers are supposedly going to support the N-Gage? I already have a phone, but if I'm supposed to switch providers just so I can use it, forget the whole thing. No reason to have a "game+phone" system if you can't use the phone side of the equation. Otherwise, you just have a $300 Gameboy that plays MP3s. Just buy an MP3 player for the Gameboy, and keep the extra $100 or so.
