Default How do you Arcade game at home?

MAME, Moduler (Model 2 emulator) and final burn + MAS or Real Arcade pro (I use both)

Supergun or consolized AES/Atomiswave/Type X (if consolized Type X boards exist)

    A basement full of cabs?

Option 1 for me I have a real arcade pro and 2 Mas sticks I use (some Type X games don't like my sticks though)

My multicade is set up with a Xarcade Tankstick. I would recommend it to anyone. One of the best purchases I've ever made. I would also like to add that play-asia has a gun now that works with lcd tv's. I haven't got one yet, but I can't wait to get it. I use Mame, FinalBurn, and all the other emulators. I use my old computer from high school that I didn't want to get rid of. I have it set up with surround sound. The volume knob is on the center speaker which is concealed underneath the controller. The front speakers are in the traditional spot above the screen. The rear speakers sit beside it and can be put whereever. I got a 21" CRT monitor(heaviest part). I put a coin door on it, but I haven't had a chance to wire it yet. Mine is a work in progress. It needs to be painted bad. I work too much to finish it, but one day. . .

I wanted an X arcade for the longest time, but then I found out the parts are well MEH. It's a fine start but it doesn't take too much effort to build your own stick.

start at Lizardlick.com and go from there, if you built the cab why not the sticks too?

how did you attach the X-Arcade to the cabinet? It looks like it would move around if it was not screwed in somehow.

I built it to fit a bit snug. I didn't attach it though, because I've designed some interchangable parts. I'm planning to build a module with a steering wheel, and a module with two guns. I might combine the two though. I end up doing more planning than building sometimes.

Not a basement full, but I do have a DK Jr. upright in my basement. I also have a gutted cab I was going to turn into a MAME cab, but a motorcycle accident 3 years ago kind of slowed me down to a stop on that project.

I have a little arcade nook in my condo.

    Cocktail with multicade board

    X-Arcade MAME cab

Hanaho Games SNK Arcade Classics bartop (with both the SNK SD card and the TAITO SD card)

I don't have a ton of space for arcade games in my studio, in fact I only keep one here. Klax cabaret in the kitchen...

The only game I can smoke about 99% of all people against. Also houses a Tetris board in there since they use identical control setups.

3/5th size Galaga MAME cabinet in storage at my parent's house...

I wish I had the space for it and while I could fit it in here, I enjoy having some open space.

And I guess this, a gutted Pole Position I reworked into a MAME setup...

I tore it apart and put the cabinet into storage. In fact a lot of the computer resources were moved over into the Galaga cabinet. I still have the cabinet, glass and controls stored away. I might start restoring it and rebuilding it from the ground up as a dedicated original Pole Position since we're getting closer and closer to having a stable, modern, Pole Position / Pole Position II multiboard.

I always wanted that SNK Cab. I have a MAME folder of JUST SNK on my laptop (which is powerful enough to run most Type X2 games)

maybe someday I'll get a 6 slot MVS SOMEDAY

It's all emulation, some proprietary system developed by Hanaho games, not as good as a real MVS, frankly not even as good as the games run in MAME, but it does have a real CRT arcade monitor/arcade hardware and you can swap out the IMG file/SD card for the TAITO games collection. A neat oddity that I'm glad to own.

I haven't gotten around to doing it yet but I plan the arrange the buttons in my Real Arcade Pro VX SA to look like Neo Geo Buttons, Funny how the colors on this stick are all neo geo button colors.

Sadly some games and mappers (fighter maker, Joytokey) don't work with my VX SA

Sill I like the VX SA better than my 2 MAS Sticks

I've got one of the SNK Gameroom Classics too and definitely prefer the Taito 20-in-1 card. Most of the Taito games are old classics. So... original PCBs would be non-JAMMA, expensive, and since they're old tech they emulate pretty well. The SNK card is limited to 6 mediocre games with mediocre emulation. I just wish the mini cab had all the voltage levels needed for true JAMMA.

For my arcade gaming I've got:
    - SNK Gameroom Classics in my bedroom
    - supergun and a consolized Naomi in my gameroom
    - 25" Capcom dynamo (horizontal JAMMA), 19" Guerrilla War cab (vertical JAMMA w/rotary and non-rotary CPs), and a dedicated Millipede in the garage

I've got a bunch of arcade 'consoles' and single game PCBs... everything JAMMA or with a JAMMA adapter so I can use them either with the supergun or in a garage cab.

Yeah, the thing handles the Taito games much better. I typically leave that in there.

From what I've been told you can wire an external power source in there that would support a standard JAMMA board, but the space is so cramped in the cab that board itself probably wouldn't even fit.

Yup, most of my JAMMA boards probably wouldn't fit in there.

Before I bought this I read that you can run some of the MVS 1-slot mobos with just +5V and wire non-amplified audio out to external speakers. Pretty easy to turn it into a 'real' Neo Geo but I haven't bothered yet.

If that was a real Raiden cabinet, I would've been jealous as hell.

I'm thinking of getting into the whole Supergun thing myself. Too many good games that were never really released on console (or at least in unaltered form).

I believe I've said it before but your MAME cabinets are some of the finest examples of how to execute a conversion.
