    Default Ps3 noncompatability list?

    Hello,
    I was recently given a 4 USB 80 gb ps3.

I know this subject has been done to death but I'm looking for s definitive list of ps1 and ps2 games that have issues on a ps3.

I'm more of a "retro gamer" and am interested in older titles like viewtiful Joe and twisted metal.

Or do you know of titles off hand that don't work?

    Thanks!!!

    Sony has a query form:

    http://us.playstation.com/support/co...atus/index.htm

    Wiki has a wiki:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...yStation_games

    Enjoy!

Hey thanks Frankie, but that was the first place I looked.

For some reason the Sony website redirects me here... http://playstation.custhelp.com/

And I had no luck searching there site.

The wiki page is cool. Sadly no megaman 8 or viewtiful Joe!

Hmm, yeah, I guess the official query thing is broken. That sucks, but the Wiki seems to have everything covered. Sucks about Viewtiful Joe!

Try it again. The backwards compatibility reference guide opens, but for some reason if it's a title that includes a space, then it won't work for me on Firefox. However it works on Internet Explorer just fine.

On Firefox, searching Yakuza on the 80GB comes up as

    Wreckless: The Yakuza Missions
    Publisher: Activision Product No: SLUS-20431
Description: Throughout the title, when a menu screen appears, the graphics jitter and/or flicker.

    Yakuza
    Publisher: Koei Product No: SLUS-21348
    Description:

    Yakuza 2
    Publisher: Sega Product No: SLUS-21769
    Description:
But searching anything with a dual name such as Viewtiful Joe, Final Fantasy, etc, changes it to Final20Fantasy

This game isn't compatible with the console you've picked. Try another one?
Has no problems on Internet Explorer.

That sucks but thanks for confirming viewtiful Joe won't work!

According to the site, it doesn't say Viewtiful Joe doesn't work. It just comes up in error when on Firefox is what I meant. Searching on Internet Explorer it comes up that it does work. If you look at Wreckless the Yakuza Missions, if it has anything listed there, it means that it has a problem, if it doesn't have a listing, it means it works fine. On both 20/60GB models, 99.9% of titles work. On 80GB models, 98% of the titles work, so either way you'll find few problems.

Oh ok, sorry that was a misread!

    Thanks again!!!

98% is better then i had hoped. My buddy said it was like 80%.

FYI: I rolled the dice and spent 7 bucks on a cib viewtiful Joe. Game worked fine and is quite fun to boot. I guess the wiki page hasant been updated for a while.
