If I could only have one fighting game, it would have to be Street Fighter 2, the original one... I know it has been improved upon, but I love the original... Best fighting game ever IMO....

Street Fighter Anniversary Collection on the Xbox. Two classics will always be at my disposal.

If I could keep only one fighting game it would have to be Super Smash Bro....Melee. Yeah that may seem "girlie" but yoshi is bad ass... 8-)

I would have to say that I would keep Marvel vs. Capcom simply for the fact that you could play as so many characters and not to mention the fact that I have a huge loyalty to 2-D fighters, but MVC2 only barely beats out Soul Calibur 3 becasue of create-a-character
Looking to buy any Criterion movies that I don't already have.

Definitely Project Justice for Dreamcast. The characters are so unique, and it's one heck of an addictive game.

MvC2 for DC for me. It's fun, it's simple, it's everything I want in a fighting game really.

Amen. I'd rather have the original (on SNES) than Turbo or Super. It was the first one I played and the one I spent the most time with, even after I tried the two later SFII games on the system. I never enjoyed using any of the bosses, other than for kitsch value, since I was more comfortable with Ken or Ryu. It was an uphill battle trying to play a serious one-player game and win with the likes of M. Bison or Balrog, no matter how tough they could be to face as a computer opponent at times. I thought they sucked when you were playing AS them, instead of against them. As for the speed, I liked the game the way it was.

If I could choose a wrestling game as a choice I would choose Fire Prowrestling Returns. Greatest wrestling game of all time, in my opinion.

If not, I would choose Mortal Kombat 2, any version.

Although I love SF II Turbo, I'd have to go with World Heroes 2, as the WH series have always been a personal favorite of mine. 2 was the last WH game with Death matches, and it's also the last one to have the "original" feel, as Jet and Perfect changed quite drastically IMHO.

So yeah, if I could only play 1 fighter from this day forth, it'd be World Heroes 2

It was designed like it was going to be the last SF title ever and they put so much into it that no other SF title stands up to it. When SF III Double Impact and Third Strike came out I was so disappointed. They had a fraction of the cast and a fraction of the features. SFA3 had unlockable characters and modes, customizable characters and THE largest cast of characters out of any SF title. You could change thier super move, this was especially nice for people like me to use the V-ism because some A-isms are a little hard and I can hardly ever pull off a X-ism. They introduce some really cool characters too.

Honorable mention goes to Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 for SNES. It had so many unlockable menus that the replay value way up there. I think that there were about 4 of them and they allowed for you to play as Kintaro, and Shaw Khan, take no damage, play Space Invaders and a ton more. It had every character in it up until that time. Its only stightly below SFA3 but in its own league amoung others.

I love Alpha 3, or Zero 3 on the JP Sega Saturn. That'd be in my top 3, along with SF II Turbo (SNES).

As for UMK3, good call. I still need to buy that one. You said it has every character, but going off magazines, it's said SHEEVA is missing.

Thumbs down I really did read them all.

I read everyone's replies, and there was only one vote for SSBM! That's kinda interesting, given how huge the game is. We're talking one game for the rest of your life after all.

Here's what I'm considering: SSBM, SF2, and The Last Blade. If Super Punch-Out!! counts as a fighting game, though... Well you can roll up your little question and shove it where the rain doesn't fall, 'cause that game wins hands down.
