Talking Score: Factory-Sealed Goldeneye 64 Combo Pack - Need Info!

    Hello everyone,

I wanted to share with you something that I located in my parent's basement. It's been sitting down there for years, untouched. It is a Factory-Sealed Goldeneye 64 Combo Pack. It includes both Goldeneye 64 and the strategy.

I totally forgot that I had this and I'm very excited that my parents didn't throw it out! The thing is, I can not remember where this came from. I've honestly never seen another one like this. I've looked all over the internet and I can not find any info on it. I figured as ask some of you G64 experts here to provide me with some info on it. Who made these? Is this rare? How much is it worth?

I have a hunch that it might be a store-exclusive of some sort. The plastic casing has some cracks in it, but the contents inside are in mint condition.

Thanks for looking and any help that you can provide!

Possibly. I've gathered that it might be either Target, Walmart, or KB Toys.

I can't remember if we got it from a store or from a garage sale. If we got it from a store, it wouldn't have been Walmart, so either Target or KB. If it was from a garage sale, it could obviously be from any of those, if not others.

You've got a nice piece, zombi!

It looks like the price for just a sealed Goldeneye is $100+, so a sealed set including the players guide should bring a higher amount. The guide by itself isn't worth that much, so as to how much it might help the value, I couldn't say exactly, but it likely wouldn't be a large increase.

A sealed Player's Choice copy is worth about $80-$100, an original release is worth $200 plus.

    You're right.

What I meant to say was it was $100 plus or minus. It was late, so I guess I got off track. Luckily it wasn't too far off!

With that packaging I'd almost think it came from Costco.

I have the exact same thing(still sealed as well). And although I got mine off of ebay years ago I know exactly where they came from: various warehouse chains. They actually do this alot at places like BJ's, Costco and other warehouses. Hell, they even bundle systems in mylar like that too, especially during the holidays. I have been debating for years rather to sell mine or not. And on an interesting side note, these sealed games are what eventually evolved into the graded video games that are all over ebay today.

An unopened game, now that is embarrassing. It is nice to have it intact, but for me worthless. What if the untested game does not work?

Minimally. There is still a small percentage failure rate that slips through and that test is only at the point of manufacture. Lots can go wrong in transit and over time. Having said that, the risk is fairly low.

N64 games work, and should still work by now. Frankly if you buy a sealed piece like this, why would you open it? Nice find though!

Because collecting sealed games is assinine. If you are an investor and don't want to play games go buy stocks and bonds and shit.

Wow nice find!! I would agree with the above, the packaging looks like Costco, or even Sam's Club. Although I'm not sure if Sam's Club sold games back then.

They definitely did. My first thought when I saw this was that it was from Sam's Club. To date myself a bit, the only time I ever saw a CD-I when they were still in retail was at Sam's Club. I played one of the Zelda games on the demo station.
