Default Favorite Power Up Controller Code

I have not played Contra for years, but I just recently found a copy and plugged it in today. When the title screen scrolled to center and stopped my fingers took control and flawlessly entered the Konami Code as if I were 13 again. Are there any codes from the NES you remember as well as the Konami code?

Not a chance. Combine how many times I played Contra, Life Force, and Gradius with how rhythmic the Konami code is, and there is little chance I or my muscle memory will ever forget it. Other codes have long since drifted into oblivion in the back of my mind. With that said, even though it is not a code, I will never forget how to perform a Shoryuken in Street Fighter and I do recall there being some NBA Jam code that involved rotating the control pad in a clockwise or counter-clockwise motion thirteen (?) times, but yeah- those were SNES games. Long live the undying Konami Code.

Not an NES game, but I remember the blood code for the Genesis' Mortal Kombat (A,B,A,C,A,B,B,), which is kind of weird considering I didn't have a Genesis and I hate Mortal Kombat.

I haven't played it in ages, but TMNT 2 The Arcade Game for the NES had the
Konami Code or a variation of it. I use to get frustrated trying to enter it before
the time was up and it went to the title screen. Also, I vaguely remember a code
for a game, but I have forgotten what the game was. The code, I believe was D.U.L.L.A.R.D.
(down, up, left, left, a, right, down). Anyone remember this? I'm pretty sure it was an NES/SNES
game but I could be wrong.

I always wondered if the game developers were fans of Genesis (the rock group that is) after seeing this code.

It's Mortal Kombat. It's a code for a hidden options menu, it does a bit more than the basic blood code which was already mentioned earlier.

The D.U.L.L.A.R.D. code is also for Mortal Kombat on the Genesis and it opens a menu with some extra cheats (like get Reptile to show up at the beginning of every single fight)

The only code I remeber besides the MK and Konami codes already mentioned is the code to unlock Ryo Sakazaki in Fatal Fury Special for the SNES and the reason I remember it is because it's basically doing his desperation move at the Takara logo (Down, Down-right, Right, Down-right, Down, Down-left, Left+X, then the logo will turn blue)

EDIT: Gameguy beat me on the D.U.L.L.A.R.D.

I was thinking Mortal Kombat, but wasn't sure. I probably remembered the code because when
MK came out, I was in 5th grade I think, and that's all anyone ever talked about/played. I remember
the wild rumors of nudeality, cussality, (cursing) and sexuality codes were running rampant at my school.
It's amazing what the minds (hormones) of young boys can think of.
(Hopefully that sentence came out right.)

C-Up, C-Right, C-Down, A, B, B, B, A, A. Anyone else remember what that was for? That was for unlocking the extra options on Mortal Kombat Trilogy for N64.

Also, 461 on matchup menus on NBA Hangtime gave you infinite turbo.

Also, I remember that the original GTA for the PS1 had some funny codes, mostly swear words. "BULLSHIT" and "BLOW ME" are a couple I remember (though I don't remember what they did), I think "FUCK OFF" was another.

Street Fighter II: The World Warrior, and Street Fighter II: Turbo both used this one, but for different things:

    Down, R, Up, L, Y, B, X, A

In SF2, it allowed mirror matches, and in SF2T it would either disable special moves, or unlock higher turbo speeds, depending on when you input the code.
The US version of SF2 shortened the code for some reason. You didn't need to press X, A.

It's the infamous Ikari Warriors stage select code. Is there a more complicated input code out there?

I believe on Holyfield Boxing for the Genesis, if you put your name in as "The Beast", your guy would start out powered up to the max, plus your boxer was green.

WCW Thunder for the PS1 had some ridiculous 16 or 20 button codes (using nothing but the shoulder buttons) that unlocked hidden wrestlers and such. Considering how bad that game was it wasn't really worth the trouble.
