Besides that, you need a certain e-Reader card from a booster pack that was only available on Nintendo's website for a certain period of time.

At one time at the very least, you could easily buy a small memory card wth an Animal Crossing save with every NES game unlocked on Ebay for $10 or so. I remember considering it a few times but ultimately never bothered to buy one or Animal Crossing.

Wouldn't do you much good getting the games unlocked on your own save, but it would allow you to access to all the NES games included on it just by swapping memory cards. Some of which it's my understanding were inaccessible by any legitimate means (Zelda I believe was at least one such example).

Just look it up in a search engine. There's tons of list out there telling you the methods of getting each of the games.

For Super Mario Brothers, there was never an official way of getting it. So you either buy and use an Action Replay or Game Shark to unlock it, acquire a memory card with a save with it already unlocked on it, or transfer a save with it unlocked to a memory card yourself.

The method I used was starting a new game with a specific name. With this name you could input a code to get each game, then visit that town and trade the games to your character or gift them or whatever. I don't remember exactly. But yeah. Look it up but that's the only way you can do it with the rare games.

well ive tried the generic search engine results, and as expected results are all varying. ive asked here on this forum and on one other (no response there yet) and i just want to make sure and verify that I can in fact get the super mario bros with just an Action Replay. If you can guarentee me thats all I need ill hop to it, as ive already scoped out a few on amazon.

and btw, thanks a lot for taking time out to answer me, its a huge help! cheers

I used to fill towns with golden trees with my action replay. The eBay market was pretty good for NES game saves. I had a lot of the cards at one point but none of them gave me SMB. Have you found a master item code list by any chance?

I was mistaken, it seems. It was Punch-Out! that was accessible. For the longest time, there were 5 games that the community called the "Forbidden Five", which included Mario Bros., Ice Climber, Punch-Out!, Super Mario Bros., and The Legend of Zelda. Ice Climber and Mario Bros. were eventually obtainable through e-reader, and Punch-Out! was accessible from a giveaway. Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda are still inaccessible legitimately.

Looks like Mario and Zelda are unobtainable unless you use an Action Replay or code disc.

I was just pointing out the games that I got and thought it was as simple as doing what I did to do the same. When you realize that the game isn't any good except for NES games you can play on a console you already own or emulation, you quit playing, eventually forget all about it, and play other better and more deserving games.

I could have sworn we had a thread about this once. I found these:
    http://www.digitpress.com/forum/show...UNCH-OUT-FOUND
    http://www.digitpress.com/forum/show...-code-and-more!

At least the Action Replay is still readily available:

If I'm not mistaken, the SD Media Launcher also functions as an AR.

Just a crazy question here, but why not buy an NES with Super Mario Bros.? It would be so much simpler. Even more-so, if you don't want to hook up an NES to your TV, get a GBA with the NES Classic re-release of SMB and play that way.

I get the appeal of having a newer generation Nintendo game that contains within its world classic NES games, and I own several Nintendo Entertainment Systems in my world with damn near all of the first-party games. It's a shame, though, that Animal Crossing doesn't hold enough appeal for me to consider entering its world.

Seems a lot of people don't care for that one. Isn't the resolution a bit mussed?

hey does it matter which AR i get? i know everyone says the "for wii version sucks" but honestly im probably just gonna be using it for animal crossing not really tinkering too hard with other games, so it should work correct?

The best solution was an Animal Crossing code disc that was more or less a stripped down Action Replay "Action Replay Ultimate Codes: Animal Crossing" that was only designed for Animal Crossing. We had one of those and it unlocked everything, including all the NES games.
