    Default PSP UMD region free?

I am thinking about buying "Princess Crown" for the psp.

Does anyone know if the psp is region free?

also, Is the psp version of princess crown english friendly like the saturn version is?

    Thanks

PSP GAMES are region free. I do not believe that PSP UMD MOVIES are; though I could be wrong.

As for Princess Crown, I don't know. Sorry.

UMD's are region free, and the PSP version of Princess Crown is not entirely english friendly. I know this, because I imported it, became incredibly confused, and put it on the shelf. It's possible I'm missing something though, because you're saying that the Saturn version is english-friendly, when the PSP version is actually just emulating the Saturn version, and it's aggressively english-hostile. If you could find your way around the Saturn version, you could find your way around the PSP version. Be warned, there are NO english options in the game at all.

If you're still interested in playing it, there's a PDF translation available as a download. Follow the link in the first message in this link.

EDIT: Flashback is correct: most UMD movies are region locked, while the games are not. it's a Hell of a system for importing.

No one cared, or Sony didn't allow it (we aren't sure IIRC). Maybe both. Presumably region lock was doable.
    Lum fan.

I was basing my english friendly version on the saturn on the following that is from gamefaqs.
Does anyone agree or disagree with this info?

There is a fair amount of Japanese text in the game, especially
in the character dialogue. Many of the options and virtually all
of the text graphics are in English, including the splash screens
and end-of-battle tallies. The game is very playable despite the
Japanese dialog; if you don't mind missing out some humor in the
dialogue, you probably won't have any difficulty with this game.
Just in case, though, I've included a walkthrough if you're
having difficulty finding the next task to accomplish or dungeon
    to visit.
