Default Classic Gaming Video Trolling - are you with me?

So, I am new to this forum and I have found my self enjoying this forum quite a bit. I have been a gamer all of my life and I collect old school gaming consoles and games. I would consider this my home but I can't. I run a YouTube channel where I spend a lot of my time video editing and sharing footage of games from various old school gaming consoles, such as Sega Saturn. I dedicate plenty of time to this, and I choose to keep everything authentic instead of using crappy emulators. I know many of you probably do the same stuff and I feel that if you make a video that can spark an interesting discussion here on this forum, what exactly is wrong with posting it here as its very own discussion? No, its not spamming obviously if you are not saying "OH... LOOK AT MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL"... no... its for an entertaining gaming discussion only and I feel everyone should be able to start a topic, with videos, without being trolled by whiners. You can either be with me or against me on this, but I am totally for watching gaming related videos and discussing them.

Secondary topic here... how about we list what consoles we own to see who is a real game collector here...

    1.) NES (2)
2.) NES (Top Loader 2nd Model)
    3.) SNES
    4.) Sega Genesis
    5.) Japanese Sega Saturn
    6.) Sega Dreamcast (2)
7.) JP Neo Geo Pocket (BW)
8.) JP Neo Geo Pocket Color (5, including rare yellow/black version)
    9.) Tiger Game.Com Handheld
    10.) Atari 2600
11.) PlayStation (2, including rare yellow version)
    12.) PlayStation 2 (2)
    13.) PlayStation 3
    14.) Nintendo Gamecube
    15.) Nintendo Wii
    16.) Nintendo Virtual Boy
    17.) Sega 32x
    18.) XBOX
    19.) Gameboy Advance

Its safe to say that I have over 500 games...

Wait? You're creating another thread because people are getting pissed that you're posting too many new threads? Oh, this is going to end well. There is a thread already where everyone can post their video reviews. If you have something special, space it out every month or so, that way people won't complain about them.

You shouldn't be complaining about it to begin with... "Top 20 Unreleased Video Game Consoles" creates a great gaming discussion amongst gaming peers and its not a gaming review video. Some people really enjoy seeing that stuff and enjoy speaking about it and that's the whole point of it and I don't need your permission to post any video anywhere I want to, especially if it is for an entertaining gaming discussion purpose only.

Dude, I understand why you're being defensive, but that's how it's generally done around this forum. I know I have no mod abilities, or some of the others who have commented, but we're trying to help you before you get on the bad side of the moderators. We're constructively criticizing your posting methods.

As for your top 20 video, I enjoyed it. The whole time I was waiting for the Indrema L600 to pop up. I used to run an Indrema website called Indrema Zone until the whole project was canned. Anyways, keep posting, contribute, and participate in other discussions. With time you will get the flow of things if you stick around.

You should worry about getting on the mods bad side... not me. If I open up a topic that creates interesting discussion, with a video attaches, I am not doing anything wrong. I have nothing to worry about. In fact, I can bring a lot of people to this forum who watch my videos, who may be interested in watching other peoples videos and discussing gaming related topics and i'm sure they wouldn't have no issues with a video game discussion featuring a video.... so just stop... its ridiculous. You are a mod wannabe.

I for one agree with this.

I also tend to prefer to not watch videos, in fact.

list your console collection, and its up to you whether you want to watch videos or not, though it is up to anyone who wants to share a gaming video to share it if they wish to, it creates great discussion. Its not spamming.

You know what, I'll take your advice on posting only once a month, even though I posted a few topics already that people have enjoyed very much. It makes no sense to fight over this. Please give me a list of your console collection.

The point of a community is to flow with the community, not fight it during your first month active or act like you're some board savior.

These are big forums. These are old forums. We try to maintain some form or organization due to the decade of information contained here. Honestly you shouldn't blow up at someone trying to show you the ropes.

Also what the hell does it matter how big or diverse someone's "console collection" is? That's not what gaming, and Digital Press especially, is about.

Well, decades of information you mention... and that doesn't include discussions featuring videos? That is my only point. Some gaming videos are valuable, for example, I personally made a mini documentary on American arcades, dating back to Coney Island, but I don't think I'd share it on here after this and its a shame because that would of created great discussion, where as sharing your memories on arcades is the whole purpose of the documentary.

IF you are trying to belittle me, discourage me, it doesn't work. This is the thing, I don't need to share my material. I am well known, I have been featured on Kotaku, and several other well known gaming sites. Some of my videos have over 100,000 views. It's my talent, my hobby. I won't share if you are the type of person who will trash it. The whole purpose of sharing is because that's who I am, and it creates great discussion.

Whoa gamingpalooza, you don't have to be a dick!

You don't think the rules apply to you man? On top of that, whenever you get constructive criticism you take it out on everyone else?

I think you're just looking to pick a fight and that's my honest opinon.

Yeah, sage words. Forums are kinda like lunch tables back in school. When you join one you can't draw a bunch of negative attention to yourself or not respect what older members tell you and then expect them to greet you with open arms when you sit back down with them the next day. There is an appropriate Japanese proverb that comes to mind: The nail that sticks up gets hammered down. Relax, man. Insults win no friends.

I don't post on here much (been a member for a while, I mostly post on Atari Age, and have been there over 10 years), mostly just for informing when the next local gaming event is going to be or something, but I want to say something here.

I mod 3 different forums (not here), and the way you're acting, gamingpalooza, I'd have banned you long before now.

"I'm well known. I've been featured on Kotaku."

You know who is well known? Curt Vendel. Joe Santulli. I've known Curt on various forums for years now (and personally seen some of his Atari Museum items), but you barge in and start spouting off about how famous and talented you are. I've never heard of you, and I'm pretty sure nobody else here has, either.

You come off like those guys on gamefaqs that have to post that they're "the best at whatever game they play" and whatnot.

Oh, and as for consoles, it's easier for me to put up what I DON'T own at this point, and that's just a very few things. A PS3, a Wii, a WiiU, a CD-I, a Bally Astrocade, a NEO-GEO (either the cart or CD based system), a TurboDuo, and a Jaguar CD. That's it, besides Japanese consoles. Right now I've got over 30 classic computers, and my collection is over 2,500 games in total. It's not a pissing contest, dude. Everybody owns different things and collects different things. I've also been around since gaming first started, and have seen it all, from the crash in '83 up to the newest graphics that would have made us absolutely faint in the 70's.

My advice is to chill out and just try to be a member of the forum instead of acting like you're some kind of big shot.

Secondary topic here... how about we list what consoles we own to see who is a real game collector here...

    1.) NES (2)
2.) NES (Top Loader 2nd Model)
    3.) SNES
    4.) Sega Genesis
    5.) Japanese Sega Saturn
    6.) Sega Dreamcast (2)
7.) JP Neo Geo Pocket (BW)
8.) JP Neo Geo Pocket Color (5, including rare yellow/black version)
    9.) Tiger Game.Com Handheld
    10.) Atari 2600
11.) PlayStation (2, including rare yellow version)
    12.) PlayStation 2 (2)
    13.) PlayStation 3
    14.) Nintendo Gamecube
    15.) Nintendo Wii
    16.) Nintendo Virtual Boy
    17.) Sega 32x
    18.) XBOX
    19.) Gameboy Advance

Its safe to say that I have over 500 games...
So a list of consoles defines who's really a collector and who isn't?

Also, I'd love to see this yellow PS1.
