Default the most expensive fighting games

Not counting the AES games. It can be any region or system. I just got the
Playstation 2 Marvel Vs Capcom New Age of Heroes and I started wondering what is the most $$$$ fighting game?

The CPS Changer games go for between $600-1000 when they come up.

I've never even seen what the boxes look like.

    That's for an arcade?

Its basically Capcom's version of a Neo Geo.

I don't think the carts came in retail-type packaging, just plain white boxes with descriptive type on them.

No. As wiggyx said, it Capcom's answer to the Neo-Geo AES.

It is basically a licensed supergun. Each game contains not just the ROM chips, but also the CPU and other hardware for the CPS1.

The ROM chips contained slightly modified versions of the CPS1 arcade games to include things like difficulty select, control config, etc.

Any way you want to slant it, these games were sold on store shelves or through the mail. They're not arcade games.

Man, come on this system is basically an AES but from Capcom. I think the OP didn't want arcade carts made for the home console on the list. CPS and other arcade type boards should be added to the no list. How does the OP feel about protos?

You are right but I'm glad I just learned about this? Does it connect to a TV?

Kizuna Encounter is a fighting game, and its AES PAL variant is one of the most expensive games ever:

Yes. There's a particular site with useful information on such things, y'know.

Huh? The AES is a home system as is the Neo Geo CD. The MVS is the arcade hardware version of the Neo Geo. The CPS Changer is a home system only. It's a Japanese only home version of Capcom's CPS hardware. If you don't want to count Japanese only systems or systems and games that were expensive to begin with, feel free to exclude it, but it's no less a home system than any other piece of hardware released for home use by any other manufacturer.

Yeah, if you want to count prototypes, a review copy of Thrill Kill for ps1 should fetch a fair price.

Yeah the list of expensive fighting games begins and ends with NEO GEO.

This dude has a ton of those games, including CD games, and then he bought the Capcom System games too and a charger.

Actress Again and Power Instinct PS2 will set you back a bit, largely because they're in demand imports. You can find them for eighty bucks on eBay if you're quick and lucky.

Fighting games that aren't arcade or AES never really hit stratospheric levels, but beyond the PS2 imports, Astra Superstars for the Saturn is pricey. Value fluctuates; I've seen it go for $100, and I've seen it go for $200. There was a time when PS2 Marvel 2 was going for three figures, and Project Justice and Tech Romancer for the Dreamcast were going for between $50 and $80.

A lot of the more expensive fighting games are expensive not because they're extremely rare, but because they're in demand and the people who own them play them frequently. This is why CVS2 on PS2 goes for $25 or more: it's still a widely played game in some circles, and the resale value reflects that.

I'm pretty sure it came with the CPS Fighter arcade stick.

Hmm, everyone always forgets "The Eye of Typhoon" for the 3DO. last time it was up on evilbay, it hit over $1,200.00! I always wondered if there was a prototype MVS cart out there that might be worth more? Either way, it's damn expensive and it's a 3DO game. Crazy man, crazy!
