Unhappy i need some help about a computer game i played in 1988-1989...it could be older though.

i played it in first grade (1988\1989) though this wasn't an educational game, it was a game my teacher brought from home, so it had nothing to do with spelling or math lol.

here let me try and explain it...though some of it may be different.

it was green\black monochrome 1970's-1989 first person adventure\rpg game (it had first person graphics, but you had to type to get things done). it had an outline of walls and and things on walls, but the outline was more like drawn on and not a digital outline. when you walked through from room to room, the outline would change, but when you went into the wrong areas there would be traps, and you would die and fall down pits and holes or get killed by things, or even slip down cliffs, and i remember when i died to the poison ivy i remember the outline of the poison ivy vine, and the poison ivy leafs themselves. it either took place in a cave, castle or tower (leaning towards tower), and you were either going up to do something, or you were trying to escape...you had to pick up keys, daggers, ropes and stuff like that.

    hopefully someone can help me!

P.S. it is not zork, it is not colossal cave remake.

see that is where the problem lies. i dont remember exactly, though i am 90% sure it wasnt an apple. i know it took 5 1/2 or 5 1/4 disks (because i remember they were the big floppy ones, though i think 5 1/4 is apple, if so ignore that size), also remember needing a boot disk (90% sure on that one also)...ok so i went and looked at computers, i think it was an IBM, but only 90% sure. after looking at the graphics in the 80's, the game had to be pre 1984,which is weird i played it in 1988

ID:	6036 (but a little worse, and like i said i played ito n a monochrome monitor, but i guess it could have been in color).

also the key is the trap where you die to poison ivy (the plant not the batman character)...how many test based graphic adventures have poison ivy in them? i think that is going to be the key...

it reminds me a lot of colossal cave (jewel of darkness), if you have played that, you will know what i mean. it could have been a C64, a tandy coco, or an ibm....seriously though...how many games had a poison ivy trap?

Level 9 did that graphical version of Colossal Cave. Perhaps it was one of their other releases?

Some other possibilities (for the TRS-80 Color Computer):

    - Hall of the King I, II, and III
    - Calixto Island
    - To Preserve Quandic
    - Dallas Quest (yep, the game becomes very un-Dallas about half way through)
    - Magic of Zanth
