Farcry 3

I'm surprised there's no topic about this game. I've been playing it for the past few days and I think it's great! For me it rivals bioshock for best fsp of this generation.

Those if you who are sick of the grey and brown cods and gows will be pleasantly surprised here. The game is very colorful-lots of greens from the island's vegetation, and a the water adds a gorgeous turquoise sheen. The day and night cycles include some very colorful sunsets as well.

The story is pretty cool so far. Vaas gives Andrew Ryan and Frank Fontaine a run for their money. He's a brilliantly scripted psychopath, and I can't wait to see more of him.

The gameplay has a nice open world/fallout 3 mission system (which I guess is also present in fc1and 2--I haven't played them.

Anyway, I'm really excited about this game. Is anybody else enjoying it?

GOTY. Best single-player FPS of this generation...just edging out the Fallout games. The PC version borders on next-gen graphic quality if you've got the hardware.

A few disclaimers: In my opinion...Elder Scrolls are not first person shooters, and the Borderlands games are not "single-player". Also, Bioshock is obviously excellent, but an open-world always trumps linear corridors.

I've been playing this game on and off for over a week now, on my PC. This game is beyond sweet!

My friend and I were talking about this game last night. I guess the ubisoft core fan base of people who like games that play themselves are complaining because the story is so over the top.

Over the top stories are what video games are founded on. What's wrong with that?

It worries me a bit to hear this, seeing as how game developers these days tend to take no risks and cater to the lowest common denominator.
