I've always heard that the Lego people brought in a good bit, to the point where people buy sets take the people figures out and return the set then sell the figures.

Lego people have that shit priced by the brick. Certain figures are certainly worth more than others, and vintage sets bring in a premium. But honestly every brick is worth "something", especially in bulk.

Sealed or complete sets of Lego are worth a decent amount depending on which set it is, Lego is expensive to buy new. Every so often I find sealed or new in box(open box, sealed contents) Lego sets for around $3 or so and pick them up, you can get at least $20 for a decent set with plenty of sets going for much more. I don't bother with open sets as I can't be sure they're complete when buying them and they're more difficult to sell locally, some cheaper or smaller sets I also avoid even new as they're only worth $5-$10 and I don't want to bother with them.

I've heard of people collecting certain figures but I don't bother with loose ones, I don't want to bother with them for selling locally. Still people do want them if they're limited and discontinued.

The Halo book was from yet another new Goodwill location. Just like the last one I found this one was well off the beaten path. I look forward to making many good finds there in the future. Everything else was from the flea market today. I picked up the Bettie Page book because I use to collect her memorabilia. The Castlevania cart will go with my extra manual for that game. Overall finds have been slowing down in this area, atleast significant ones. I hope I'm not about to enter another dry period.
Hey, Angel! I had no idea that thing had been released on DVD. I have the movies on VHS somewhere.

This is most of the notable stuff out of the lot that I know of, I'll have to check over a good bit of this stuff as some of it I've never heard of.

I saw the second one and it was the closest that I have ever come to walking out of a movie in the middle. YMMV

Many know that I've kept saying that we (my brother and I) had a CIB copy of Condor Attack for the 2600. It was purchased for $2 circa '92 or so from a local flea market. Around five where purchased and given away as trades, sans for one (definitely one) or two (still debating this). It was an epic find at the time...specially today, when it's considered one of the rarest games to find CIB. What really drove me to find it ASAP was because of DreamTR: he was once offering $1,300 for a CIB copy because he needed it to complete his collection. I thought that was excessive, at least at the time.

After that, I started telling the story and of course no one believed me (with the exception of "tom" from DP (I've known him for around 20 years) and a few others). In fact, a few pals also managed to find copies, though loose, through other individuals or trades, as in the case of neojapan (owns a great, local retro store in Bayamon and I know him personally). But still, I felt no one believed me, so I was hellbent more than ever to find a copy. I was worried though, since it was packaged away and, as many know, insects love to dig and destroy old stuff, specially those that were not conserved properly.

Since I'm cleaning the entire house and organizing things (placing items in my sisters room), I stumbled across a box that my brother used many years ago (2002) to pack away during the move this this existing house. It said "Atari". I opened it, and after searching a bit...it was right there...CONDOR ATTACK!

After such a long time searching, it's finally in my hands again! It's a bit dirty and I have to air it out a bit, but considering how it was packed, it's in the same condition as when it was purchased!

I know this really isn't a January find, but it made my day. I finally have proof that we own a CIB copy and it still has the $2 sticker on it!

    Fucking sweet!
I don't even collect atari, but that is awesome. I've never even seen the box for it, even though I've seen the cart in person a few times. Crazy "find".

You are talking to a guy who's sat thru no less than 5 Uwe Boll video game movies. I'm pretty sure I can handle whatever is in the second film

Ever since Christmas it has been dry, dry, dry here. No significant finds, only full-on retail purchases. My sons both got gaming equipment for Christmas, so they are doing tons of gaming but I haven't had much time for looking or playing much of anything.

Over the last two weeks I have randomly picked up the following:

Classic 80's Home Video Games (book by Jason Brassard and Robert Wicker) - $3 at Half Price Books
Transformers - a few G1's off of eBay

I haven't found a good game deal since before Xmas, and I've been outbid on every gaming-related auction that I've bid on.

Like I said: dry, dry, dry and I'm AMAZED at some of this months finds.

Picked up The Godfather II (PC) and Titan Quest Gold (PC with soundtrack), both complete for one buck each. The Godfather II activated on Origin which was a hell of a surprise. Too bad EA killed the multiplayer a year ago.

I also bought Neverwinter Nights 2 for Mac and Emperor: Battle for Dune (PC) to resell.

Found a Turok Rage Wars Gray cartridge for only 10 bucks. These are a recently discovered variant and sell for over 100 now.

Luckily, It went to a collector that will cherish it. Me.
