Default Oh NEO GEO pocket color, how it amazes me everytime I play

The more I get into Neo Geo, the more I enjoy playing my NGPC. I just wish it was back lit and need to look up how to mod my unit so it can have light. I think instead of making the aftermarket system Neo Geo X, they should have re-introduced the NGPC as it holds weight. Oh well.. At least I still have it and can rock it. The D pad rocks!

I want to collect the games I don't have already for it.

Thats awesome. I have definitely seen them done but haven't seen the adjustable brightness. Glad its not just me thinking that being in the dark rudely dates this awesome system.

I've been playing my ngpc lately. I'm amazed with the quality of the animation in the fighting games.

One weird thing is that the sprites only seem to have like... 3 colors. Black and two complementary colors. Was this sacrifice required for the great animation quality?

The limited palette for sprites has to do with backward compatibility with the monochrome NGP.

Its too bad it didnt catch on. If your handheld doesnt have Pokemon on it, its not going to do spectacularly nowadays. It has a very good library.

Really? Makes sense I guess. The backgrounds look great with lots of colors. What do they look like on an original NGP?

I like the Neogeo Pocket but i do find the fighters a little simple although Snk Vs Capcom and Gals Fighters are okay,i prefer some of the other games like Pacman,Crush Roller,Cotton and Sonic. It was a great little hand held system.

I tend to spend the most time with the carfighter clash games and Faslei. Love the NGP!

Cardfighter Clash here as well. I wish my copy of Faslei wasn't in Japanese. It looks like it'd be a fun little game. I have several of the fighting games but never really got into them.
