Default Largest N64 Cart? Resident Evil 2?

amazon.com says Resident Evil 2 was converted from a two CD PS1 game (~1000 Megabytes) and squeezed into a 64 Megabyte N64 cartridge. How on earth did the programmers pull off that stunt?

Second, is 64 Megabyte really the largest cartridge ever made?

It really is amazing that the developers (Angel something?) were able to cram EVERYTHING fropm the PSX games into the cart... the video is a bit grainy (real grainy) but all the backgrounds are crystal-clear and the Expansion Pak bumps the character models into high-resolution mode, making the actual game portions of the cart look better than those of the PSX original (too bad about the grainy video... they had to make the video very low quality to fit on the cart, even with the serious compression tecniques they were using.)

I do believe that RE2 was the biggest N64 game, though Ogre Battle 64 might have tied it.

Incidently, the N64 RE2 has more options and play levels than either the PSX or even the Dreamcast games, making it the version to get. We'll see how the straight GameCube port stacks up.

Grainy Videos is probably what killed N64. In store displays, the CD movies of PS1 would naturally attract people and encourage purchase.

Are there any other N64 games with Videos besides RE2?
