Default Uncommon Game Showcase Video Series

    Hey guys,

Over the last little bit I've started a new web series I'm calling Uncommon Game Showcase. As the name implies, I'm going through my collection highlighting some uncommon gems that hardcore gamers may have missed. As these aren't really full reviews, I plan to release them on a fairly consistent basis. These will be mostly classic gaming related, but really any console or handheld is fair game for this series.

I've got several out so far, so come check them out!

    001 - Rockman Super 6 in 1 (Famicom)

002 - Nintendo Puzzle Collection (GameCube)

003 - Alex Kidd The Lost Stars (Master System)

    004 - Zero Wing (MegaDrive)

    005 - Michael Jackson's Moonwalker (Master System)

Do the forums a favor and put this into the thread designed for it: http://www.digitpress.com/forum/show...-Review-Videos

A clean forum is a happy forum.

That would work if this was a one-off, but this series will be updated on almost a daily basis. Putting in someone else's thread is a recipe for clutter.

There are complete series and updates posted in that thread. It's not so much "someone else's thread" as it is the designated topic of this kind of crap so it doesn't clutter up the forums.

Watched the 6 in 1 video, Cool custom cart label and a nifty way to keep the board in shape and use it without wear on the contacts of the pirate itself. I had toyed with a similar idea with the Everdrive N8, but I want to see Bunnyboy's new Powerpak before I get something newer/another NES flashcart.

SNES actually did move around 10 million more consoles worldwide during its lifespan than the genesis, and 20 million more SNESes were sold in the US than Genesi, so popularity of one over the other was likely in specific regions.

I don't intend to start any SNES vs MegaDrive flamewar. The statement is worldwide. The MegaDrive was popular in the US and parts of Europe but not so in Japan. Overall, the SNES was a little more popular....but the statement is rather empty. Who honestly cares? I have a lot of love for both.

Trust me, I'm a way bigger genesis fan than SNES fan myself (even though I grew up with the latter). I just don't like to see either side of "the war" misrepresented. And yeah, besides all that, I still love both consoles. There's just way more for me to explore in the Genny library now since I grew up a nintendo kid.

    HDMI NES sounds interesting too.

I had both systems when I was a kid, but that only meant that I got fewer games for each of them. The vast majority of games for both systems I had to rent or play at friend's houses.

Playing all the games I missed out on as a kid these days is a real treat and I honestly feel the 16 bit era console war ended in a draw without a clear winner for either Sega or Nintendo. Both systems have a lot to like about them and anyone who tries to argue the superiority of one or the other I just can't agree with. Gaming was forever made better with both systems.

Book Game Over (with input from NCL and NOA) : Nintendo always overinflated sales figures
