Default How do you price some cart games that are disk games.

I found 1 or 2 games Im really wanting. Both came out on disk and never released on cart. But someone burned it to a chip and now its in cart form. From what I remember years ago these were out back in the early 2000s. How do you value these kinds of games and get an idea how much to pay. I would like to own them in cart form without overpaying.

by that do you mean ports? as in, a disk game ported to a cartridge of a completely different system? If the cart version never came out, you're likely looking at a homebrewed (or beta) port and the price is essentially whatever both he'll take for it and you're willing to pay. Exceptions are larger-scale homebrew releases like, say, Pier Solar for the genesis. This is apparently a small matter, though.

The game was on A8 disks but ported to A8 cart. Since I dont have an idea on value and ddint know if it was ported by another company Video 61 or something. Cart has a generic label CXL 9061 ( which isnt an atari cart number so wasnt sure if it was a company made or what. Ok Ill see what they are willing to take and play it from there.

Oh, you're talking about ATARI games.

Most people here, myself included, see "disc / cart" and think Famicom Disk System to NES conversion.

I've seen these kind of things on ebay. Berzerk is an example. It never came out on a cart for the A8's but someone took an A8 cart shell, burned a rom on a new board, slapped a label on it and wants $20 for it. Personally I don't pay much, if anything for something like this.

Its not a homebrew, just someone making a cart from a rom image I'm assuming.
