    Default Adventures of Lolo

You know that feeling you get when you love a game, but it only takes you two hours to beat it and you want more?

Guess how I'm feeling right now.

So, I'm wondering: Is there a community of fans who make custom maps for the Lolo games that allow such a thing? If so, where can I find it?

These games may very well tempt me to get a FDS and an MSX computer.

You can play the eggerland FDS games on a powerpak or other flashcart. Also a quick google search shows the existance of at least a few lolo hacks which have additional levels.

If you havent played lolo 2 or 3 i suggest them, they are much harder than the 1st. #3 is a real challenge to beat without help. There was also a gameboy lolo game released somewhere

Loved this game as a kid. I still have the last level password committed to memory. GCVT

Have you played 2 and 3? Not nearly as sublime, but good nonetheless.

The first game in the series to be released on the Famicom (even before The Adventures of Lolo) was Eggerland Meikyuu no Fukkatsu. It's freakin' huge, and there are some bits where you almost certainly WILL need a FAQ.

It has a special meaning for me. My old review is even still on the site! I should perhaps go finish it sometime. I got partway through making a translation patch once, but someone else has long since completed one.

    See also http://hg101.kontek.net/eggerland/eggerland.htm .

And to be sure, there are editors and hacks out there for the NES games.

Damn you beat Lolo on your first try in 2 hours? I remember getting stuck on a few puzzles myself during my quest to beat it. Usually when I got stuck I'd just turn it off for the day, then come back and beat it fairly quick with a fresh set of eyes. I played it over several days other than the all at once approach.

I heard the 2nd and 3rd are great (and each one ramps up in difficulty), but never have gotten around to playing them. If the 1st one was a breeze for you then 2 and 3 should be must plays. They will probably test your skills a bit more.

Yo, Edmond. Consider checking out Kickle Cubicle on the NES since you like Lolo. It is in the same vein and tons of fun.

I have a soft spot in my heart for Adventures of Lolo as well

I want to add my voices to a lot of other people in this thread and encourage you to try out Adventures of Lolo 2 and 3, they are both very good.

treismac also mentionned Kickle Cubicle for the NES and I completely agree, very cool game in the same vein as Adventures of Lolo. It's a bit more action but check it out it's very good.

There are also numerous hacks available all over the internet for the game. Check out these if you still feel a craving after finishing Lolo2 and Lolo3:

    http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/680/ (hack of Lolo3)
    http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/938/ (hack of Lolo3)

There are way many more hacks out there. You have many hours of Lolo in front of you Edmond Dantes

The Gameboy Lolo game was released in Europe, sadly not in the US for some reason.

    First try? hardly.

Lolo is a game my parents bought for me when I was a wee tyke. You can imagine how frustrated I was trying to solve these puzzles at eight... it wasn't until I was 20 I actually beat it (that would be like... almost a decade ago now).

It's gonna be the subject of my next blog entry BTW.

EDIT: And I'd love to own the other Lolo/Eggerland games... especially the Gameboy one. The European version supposedly includes more levels than the Japanese version.
