Does anyone remember the Game Boy version of The Battle of Olympus? Due to its being released only in Europe, then I'll assume most of you have not.

The game plays mostly the same as the NES counterpart (which was available in all regions). A few changes have been made to the port here and there, such as the omission of the snake pit (not the same as the Salamander pit) in Argolis (which on the NES version was in the last pit from the first room you arrive at when you go to visit Hermes's temple).

That's a cool game. Too bad the game boy version never hit the states. I really like the nes version, though. I never did finish it.

Other notable differences between the GB and NES versions:
After entering the names for your hero and heroine, it goes straight to the Arcadia stage, rather than showing the world map and level indicator. The world map is seen, however, when you transfer from one level to another (Arcadia to Attica, Arcadia to Argolis, Arcadia to Peloponnesus, etc.)
Upon entering the white house in Arcadia to Zeus's temple, it goes straight from the main part of Arcadia to the part leading to Taurus (the bull) and Zeus's temple entrance (you don't see the inside walkway between the scenes).
The snake pit containing the Spring of Recovery, in the right cave in Argolis, is removed (not the Salamander pit, but the pit just before it).

In continuing the differences between the GB and NES versions of TBoO, from this longplay video (by Patryk429 on YT), here is what I've noticed:
    * The NES's name entry music is heard in the "purple cave" exterior levels (which looks like Argolis from the outside, only in a bluish-purple hue) in Tartarus.
    * The NES's world map music is heard in the "rock caves" room in Tartarus.
    * The NES's temple music (Bach's "Toccata and Fugue in D Minor") is heard when you first enter the temple of Hades.
    * The NES's cave music is heard in the "green walls" room in Tartarus (the first room you come to after defeating Cerberus).
    * The NES's boss music is heard in the "yellow walls" room in Tartarus.

It's not until we come to the lair of Hades himself that we hear the NES original music for the Hades level.
