To make it easier for anyone testing their copies to make it to level 3, there's a well-known "infinite shurikens" trick that's pulled off by setting shurikens to 00, keeping the cursor on that and waiting a few seconds for it to turn into an infinity sign.

This is a thing? Does the music NOT sound like tin foil in a blender in this version? If so, I WANT IT.

Well, there's 3 different tunes in it, IIRC. The title screen, emerald collect and game over songs. They're all based on the original Sonic 1 theme, which the american dev team for spinball later found out they...didn't own ;^^ I know for sure it exists in cartridge form because it's stated on Sonic Retro that the original version had a very short production run before being swapped out with the changed one (Which is used everywhere now) and it's backed up by the fact that one of my friends from sonic paradox bought the game on launch day as a kid and specifically remembered that music from it.
