Default Ride from Airport into town?

I'm flying into McCarran Airport at around 8:10 on Saturday morning.

What's the best/cheapest/quickest way to get to the Expo?

Is anyone renting a car around that time that can give me a ride?

(I'll also need a ride back on Sunday at 8pmish by the way...)

Vegas is sloppin' over with taxis and shuttles, guy. Don't even worry about finding a ride! What I do is go to the shuttle area and - for $7 - you can catch a ride all the way to the Plaza (be sure to specific it's "downtown Vegas.") If you have a bunch of luggage, tip the driver $5 for his trouble too. For a few bucks more, you can have your own taxi too.

And for the ride back? Same deal. Lots of transportation there. Friendly too. The city thrives on visitors, so they go out of their way to accomodate.

Find a Showtime shuttle; they charge $10 from the airport to downtown. I took a cab from the Strip to the airport last year (shorter trip) and it cost nearly $20 in medium traffic.

There are even limousine services that cost around $15 or so. You usually have to share it with other people, but what the hell. It's a limo!

Oh, and here is your cheapskate tip of the week. You can catch a bus downtown that goes along the main strip, stopping near all of the major hotels. It only costs a dollar. Or at least it did a year ago.

Keep this in mind when returning to the airport. If you don't have much luggage it's the best way to go and really doesn't take that long. I did it last year and it worked out perfectly.

The bus stop is behind the Lady Luck hotel (or thereabouts).

Thanks Cav, I think I'll take your advice 'n' stick with the bus as I'll only have a carry-on case and a small rucksack (full of my trusty DPG and tradebait!!!) AND I'm on a very tight budget!

No problem! Glad to help! I know what it's like.

Of course, obviously you can catch the bus from the airport into downtown as well. I'm just not entirely sure where to catch it!

And, yeah, it's safe. Sure the occasional nutter hops aboard, but what would public transit be without them?
