Default Anybody else love D&D: Treasures of Tarmin on Intellivision?

This game was ahead of its time, its got hp and mp, first person random dungeons, weapon inventory and upgrades, etc. All this on the Intellivision back in 1983! I still like playing this game from time to time, and it feels like it paved the way for games like phantasy star and more recently Etrian Odyssey. This game never gets mentionned as a groundbreaking or great game, and I think it deserves it.

When I was, I don't know, five. I played this game. We just recently got a Intellivision and I think we exhausted Donkey Kong, frogger and Poker, . Anyway, my dad borrowed some games from someone at work. I didn't remember the name of the game but it was this D&D game. I can still remember thinking it was really cool and scary.

Damn, when gauntlet came out in the arcades I was blown away.

This is one of my favorite games of all time. I can remember the Intellivision getting scalding hot from playing this game for hours on end when I was a kid.

I bought Intellivision Lives on the DS because it has this game, although unlicensed by TSR, so it's called Minotaur. I thought it would be the first time the game could be emulated properly, because of the touchscreen. Unfortunately, they totally fucked it up, and the bottom line of what would be on the TV is cut off. You can't see what you're holding or what is in your pack, if I recall. Whatever was cut off, it made the game completely broken and unplayable.

Luckily I have an original Intellivision and the game, so I can still play it that way.

Yes I remember the ds intellivision compilation, it was a mess. The game was completely broken, emulation was bad and full of glitches. I do play Treasures of tarmin on my hacked PSP and it is a perfect "on the go" game! You can map the buttons where you want, so its playable and works perfectly.

I tried playing the game many times in the past, but I only had a loose cartridge and no instructions or overlays so I had no clue how to play it properly. I finally have the instructions and overlays (and box!) but I haven't given it another go. Now AD&D: Cloudy Mountain on the Intellivision, I loved it. It was one of the first games I ever had after I got my first Intellivision (probably around 1987), picked up in a Toys R' Us discount rack, along with Utopia and Star Strike. Ah, good times.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/intellivisio...min/faqs/16630 This is an awesome faq, it will help you a lot to understand the game. It is very hard to get into at first, but once you get the hang of it, its very good. I never liked cloudy mountain, but I really liked Tarmin!
