    Default Game Gear - Kenseiden - What's it worth?

    Hi all,

    First post, so hello to everyone, I'm Zanwolf.

    The other day while searching through my attic for my SNES and games, I came across my Game Gear with a game called Kenseiden (no box or manuel, just the cart). I've searched on ebay.co.uk and ebay.com but can only find the Mega Drive version of the game; which doesn't go for too much.
    I've tried searching google for the game gear version but have come up with absolutely nothing.

    As I can't find any information on the GG version of the game, I'm turning to you guys who know so much about this stuff. So, without further ado, how much do you think this GG cart is worth?

    A few details about the cart;
    Colour - Black
    Condition - Excellent
    Status - Still works
    Cover Art - 100% intact
    Defects/ scruffs/ scratces etc - None

    Thank you to everyone.

    Kenseiden was never released for the Game Gear. That's a SEGA Master System pirate on a Game Gear Cartridge; even more evident by the fact that the SMS-style "white boxes" cover border is still there, while Game Gear games NEVER used this (though some games used GREY squares on the boxart in Europe.)

    At the very least, it's a much better made pirate than most, but the actual value is incredibly hard to place.

    What do you mean by this;

    If you mean the grey bordered and white boxes on the cartridge art then that's from the Kenseiden box art. It has these white boxes on it.

    Do you also know of a place where there is a complete list of all the Game Gear games that were ever released?

    Thanks in advance!

    Some European Game Gear boxes used a pattern of gray boxes with white lines.

    For a list of Game Gear games, I'd say check SMS Power or GameFAQs.

    I'd second it's a pirate.

    Thanks for the quick replies guys. I didn't doubt you when you said it was a pirate, just wanted to do some more research.
    I take it pirates aren't worth anything in this case then?

    A pirate game is only worth what the buyer is willing to pay; they have no definite value and are sort of a grey area in the collector market. Unfortunately, there aren't many pirate collectors and very few of them are game gear pirate collectors so it may be a hard sell at anything but dirt low prices.

    That's great. Cheers for the information. I was just trying to ascertain if it was worth anything valuable before I sold it on ebay or the likes. I'm glad I know it's a pirate so I can just sell it for cheap.
    I'm more of a collector for the authentic material.

    Thanks again!

    seeing as how its a port of a Master System title of something that was never released on the game gear to begin with, Id say its worth about $20-30

    I'm not sure about value but there's another forum that has a bunch of these things posted. The thread there is still being updated.
