    So was this game released on the Famicom at one point in time, and this is just a translated version, or is it a game solely made for North American audiences?

    Nope, fully unreleased. The only Famicom version was an unlicensed porn clone called 3D Block.

    Default I remember really enjoying this long ago

    Maybe it was the amiga version? There was a version I really liked. I can't imagine the nes version being very playable but I always love lost games coming to light!
