    Default Post-Classic/"Pre-Modern" Gaming

Now that generation 8 is here, poor little generation 7 is already beginning to feel cold and lonely. People are slowly migrating away from the PS3 and 360, and hardly anyone talks about the Wii anymore. Generation 6 is also in a strange position. It isn't retro, but it isn't exactly modern either. How do we refer to games (primarily from the 2000's) that fall somewhere in between the two?

It feels difficult to start a discussion about things like the original DS or even the GameCube when most people are either collecting older (NES, SNES, etc.) games or obsessing over new and popular games. Has anyone else had this problem?
