Default Applie IIe monitor setup question

    Hello out there.

I'm looking at doing something that might sound odd, but it's for nostalgic reasons. I'm planning to take a color monitor from an Apple IIe and switch it to one of the classic green monochrome monitors.

Is there a video card in the Apple IIe that goes with the color monitor? And if I remove the color video card (if there is one), will the Apple be able to run a green-screen monitor or do the monochrome monitors need a specific video card too?

Finally, does anyone know what model the old-skool Apple II green-monochrome monitor is? I'd like to get the correct type; I'm thinking of the one with the scan lines and the slow phosphers. When I think of games like Drol, Aztek, Sabotage, and Bolo, that's how I picture them.

My understanding is that the green-screen monitor connects to exactly the same video output as the color monitor.

Last night I started Googling images of the backs of Apple monitors and comparing inputs. You're right, it looks like the input for the Monitor II and III are a match for the input on the Color IIe monitor that I have.

So it looks like it'll work without any hardware fiddling.
