Default is this the correct converter

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/111333555693...84.m1439.l2649

to play Famicom games on a NES? its actually a Retro Duo Portable, i read in a review that it will play FC games if a converter is used. I think i got the wrong one.

I mean, it's pretty self-explanatory. NES to FC means you can play NES games on a Famicom, which is what the picture shows. Even in the title, "NES game work on Famicom"...

You need a 60 pin to 72 pin converter. A 72 pin to 60 pin converter is useless if you want to game on a RetroDuo Portable.

you need to make a tower.

FC game cart (label facing away from you)
    \/
Famicom (60 pin) to NES (72 pin) adapter
    \/
RetroPort Adapter (either the one that comes with the RDP or the standalone one)
    \/
    RDP

Because of that, and the fact that it's suppose to be portable, I don't really recommend doing it, but hey, do whatever you feel is best.

    or this which Nintendo made...

Or this which is the cheapest at $20.

I've got a honeybee and an ntdec converter too and they're great.

Cool, good job. I'm up to 21 myself, 4 of them are famiclones but there's no shame in that considering the real versions are annoyingly expensive. What's nice is that 3 of them are old school clones using real chips, no wussy gloptops.

Because they know its the cheaper route over a Famicom and having to buy an added US adapter for it. I have a pair of them due to cost if one wants to act up. I had one, but lucked into a 3am windfall weeks ago getting two more with expensive games attached super cheap but promised one of them to another so it's gone.
