    Default Emulators for Dummies

Hey guys, I recently came into a modded original xbox console with a ton of different emulators loaded on it.. My question is, is there a guide about emulators. I have some computer knowledge , basically I can navigate and do basic stuff. How would I go about downloading more games onto these different emulators in this xbox? Thanks in advance!

Things can vary a lot from emulator to emulator, so it might help if there's a specific system you have in mind.

Regardless, software for use in emulators comes in the form of files, just like anything else, and you would transfer them to your XBox the same way. Does your modded XBox not have some sort of FTP client installed?

I remember using flash fxp to send information to the xbox, its not very user friendly, you need to input ip's and that sort of thing to connect pc to xbox.

Yeah I didn't really enjoy using FTP myself either. Luckily my Xbox can read burned discs. There is a set of four discs floating around on the internet called "Big Ass Emulator Disc" that I believe was put together in 2004. 1 disc is console games, 1 disc is handhelds, 1 disc is MAME (for most arcade games) and 1 disc is Final Burn Alpha (for most Capcom arcade games). If you have IMGburn, blank DVDs and can find these discs, they have most of the games already on them. You would then only have to resort to FTP for hacks, translations and a few lesser known games or systems that were forgotten to be placed on there.

I think the FTP I did use was FileZilla because that one is totally free software.

I'm a collector, but only to a certain extent.
Not as extreme as Rickstilwell though.[/quote]

Filezilla is hassle free, just open it start your Xbox and put in your Xboxes IP address which should show up on the screen, and use the following settings

    Username: xbox (lowercase)
    Password: xbox (lowercase)
    Port: 21

And you should connect to your Xbox, make sure in your Xboxes Network Settings under Type it doesn't say Static, if it does change that to DHCP.
