Default Finally got one, no two that finally work. So happy.

Went to a auction today and scored myself a box that had 2 Colecovision systems (all in bubble wrap) in mint condition. Also with 8 games, and one being one of my favorites. Turbo with the wheel and all. All for 50.00 bucks. The kicker for me anyway is that everthing worked great. I have not had much success in the past with Colecovision systems, but I did tonight. So happy right now.

Wow, thats quite a feat. They are hard to find working and they are such a pain to fix.

I hear the wheel in particular tends to malfunction often.

Congrats, man. It took me a long time to find a working Colecovision (which stopped working properly about a year later), I understand how great it is to finally get to play one.

I would tell you to track down some homebrew games since there's a lot of really good ones, but poking around online shows that anything good seems to be sold out without a chance of another batch getting made. Bummer.

Yes it was. As for Mr. Do. I would love to get a copy of that game. I have it on the SNES, but would love to get the Colecovision version. Its a fun game.

CV prices have dropped quite a bit, which is to be expected. The Wheel/Pedal are notoriously flaky, and of course use SIX C batteries!

Its a really common colecovision game so finding one shouldnt be hard. Plays much better with a super action controller. For some reason a genesis controller wont work with mr. do!.

Nice find! I must be one of the lucky few who has yet to have major issues with a Colecovision ***KNOCK ON WOOD***. I've had three of them, two of which have worked in the time I've had them, and one which I got in with a bunch of systems, and is untested. My first one worked fine, and when I found a second one at a flea market (with the Atari 2600 adapter, which also works ), I brought the first one to a trade meet, where it garnered a lot of attention (ended up trading it for a boxed Virtual Boy). I also have examples of both the Roller Controller and the Driving Controller, though I have yet to test either one. In addition, I have an example of the Coleco ADAM computer, though that's another story..........

Well I would say the classic gaming gods were smiling upon you then. I still have yet to attain one.

My Colecovision works just fine, it's the first and only one I've bought. Sometimes u gotta try a game a few times before it works, but it'll generally work great. I personally like using an Atari joystick the best with this system, the Genesis controller is obviously the best option, but for games this old school, it feels more appropriate to wield a classic joystick. I think one of my CV controllers has a frayed wire anyhow. I only own 7 or 8 games though so I don't hook it up too often to play it. I run that and my 2600 thru a VCR to play it on my TV, so there's a few channels to go thru to reach the gameplay. My Atari Jr works like a champ, no problem.

The only problems I've had with this system is the games can get glitched out sometimes and require some tries before it actually plays well. Mr. Do! is definately a must-own, tho. And Donkey Kong. I still say the best way to play classic Donkey Kong on a console is to just get the NES version, but for the classic early 80s systems, this was the best version.

I have my opinions also on the portly AC adaptor, and the 4 different time zones it inhabits. Why was this thing so ridiculous? My Atari Jr runs on some little cell phone charger.
