Default Tips on SNES component mod?

alright on my next few days off I think I am going to try this mod. I found one of my old yellowed SNESs that I had painted and then gave up on when I accidentally grabbed the glitter spray instead of the clear coat so its pretty gay looking now.
since I painted it I don't know what serial number it is but the board is a SNS-CPU-GPM-02 with a S-ENC encoder chip (no A or B just straight up S-ENC)

alright I wrote all this out once before then the forums crapped on me so i'll try it again.
after looking into that mention of the native component that some of the older SNESs have I looked into the mod and decided to give it a whirl

I was wondering if any one had any tips to this in regards of filters, amps ect.
It seems to me its a case by case basis on if it needs an amp or not but some times I notice that some of the other mods people are doing have a lot of interference.
but I also notice the ones having problems with interference picked some really odd spots to ground the whole set up

this board also has Sony DSPs which I get a lot of people saying these are preferable to others in terms of sound

the mods straight forward but I was wondering if any one has any tips on amps, inline resistors or any thing else I should do.

I've seen some S-ENC wired directly to RCAs and other where people has to stick an amp in some/all
idealy i'd like to be able to design a PCB to bolt in with all the components including RCA jacks at the back and only have a short jumper to the encoder chip it self.
i'll probably work on it on my next days off since I don't have any money right not really so I have time to plan the initial step of it and see how well it works.

    a side question....

what rating Is the electrolytic cap just above the reset switch?
I can see that its 220uF but I cant tell the voltage because the top is where it got cut off and on the bottom is right at the divet and I cant see in there to get the voltage.
the reason I ask is because its a bit domed and I figure I might as well replace it while I am in here.

I have modded around 3 snes for component and its very easy and there's not a lot of parts.

For your SNS-CPU-GPM-02 this is how I do it.

On pin 1(red)of the encoder add a 100uf cap, positive going to the chip.
On pin 24(blue)of the encoder add a 100uf cap, positive going to the chip.

On pin 7 of the multi out(green)add a 68ohm resister.

Now you can add jacks to the back of the system but I don't like drilling holes.

What I do is remove the rf modulator on the snes and add a trrs jack to the port, wire it all up,then use a 3.5mm av cable for component, for audio I use a regular snes av cable.

I was never satisfied with this mod, the colors always seemed a little off. But the best solution I found involved an amp on one of the channel. I tried tweaking the circuit in many ways but in the end I stuck with S-video because the colors looked better.

Your pics look fine at first glance. From what I read this mod is hit or miss, it is kind of weird.
I did on a GPM-02 and my image looked a bit like this:

This is a picture from someone who did the mod and seemed to have the same issue as me. Weak yellows and excessive purple. I could never get it right even with amps and level pots on every channel. I just gave up.

Interesting difference on the shadows in those screens.

Any way it sounds like pots on each line might be the best way to go incase I can't wire directly to rcas. Might add caps incase

That's because the first pic is the Japanese version,2nd is the US version.

Here is how mine is set up,trrs jack in place of rf,and 3.5mm av cord.

It doesn't really have a whole lot to do with the motherboard but more like what encoder it uses. If the older BA6592F is involved, then the mod you described won't work.

I just re read this and was wondering why I couldn't just use pin 23 for green?

any way I didn't have a chance to work on it today, I spent all day waiting for some flakes to show up to take a look at a car and this mod wasn't something I wanted to be interrupted with so I rebuilt my work bench and the flakes finally came to look at the car and they actually bought it which supprised me so now I have a lot more running around to do to take care of that and pay off the other car so we only have one car payment.

hopefully I get all that done so I can work on this before I go fishing after a friend gets off work
