Default Where do I learn to convert Famicom & Super Famicom games to English?

Where is this info hiding? I have looked many times and gave up over the years. But I am tired of the inflated price of reproductions. I understand I need a eeprom burner, and that there is soldering required, and that I may need to re-wire a few things. This is where I am confused. I understand I must read a mapper, and match things up. But the info online seems few and far between. It's like some sort of black art no one wants to share. I have quite a bit of soldering experience so I think I can do this if I just had the tools and the information I need in front of me. All I can find is some crappy tutorial in Nintendo Age Magazine for making a beast buster cart, and other random tutorials that are for one game only and explain nothing.

I don't want to know the exact wirings for each game, I want to know, how other people know where to route traces, and why certain traces are cut. And how to know what cart is a suitable donor cart.

Basically I want to convert japanese famicom games to english variants, and convert super famicom games to english variants.

And a good repro tutorial would be nice for general repro making.

So basically what I want to know is...

    1. Where is the best information on making repros,, & converting authentic japanese games to english?

    2. What is a good eeprom burner, and where do I get the eeproms?

    3. When it comes to making repros, where can I find these custom blank PCB's I see online everywhere but never for sale?

I also am aware of flash carts. I have a everdrive, but want to make repros.

Currently looking to trade for Magical Chase any version, and especially Dynastic Hero USA version. I have Samurai Shodown V Special MVS, lots of other MVS titles, and tons of games. Check out my profile over at http://gametz.com/user/greedostick.html if you are looking to get rid of one.

I may be entirely off base here, but if you're that interested I think you can do it far easier these days. Check out the Infinite Lives website. They sell a kazoo device that'll flash a game to a chip. They sell the chips attached to boards already custom to how you like it with the various memory mappers I think.

It could be as easy as just buying what you want, then using kazoo to dump whatever you want on a chip and be done with it other than making your own label.

Just spent the last hour reading over that website. Can't find that guys email address anywhere.

Do those boards come with the chips already installed?

And does anyone have an experience using these? I'm curious how easy it is.

Also, how does one find out what size a game is, and whether it uses high or low rom? So I can decide on which board to pick.
