Default NES Aladdin Deck Enhancer Revicion 2 Question....

About 6 years ago I bought a brand new sealed NES aladdin deck enhancer from amazon. Upon arrival I couldn't get the thing to work no matter what I did. After a little bit of research I found that this was a revision V2 similar to this: http://www.nesworld.com/pics/alad-3.jpg

I also found that there was a newly found batch (at the time) that didn't work, most likely mine being part of it. Has anyone come out with a fix for this, or is there a particular reason of why they won't work?

Unfortunately looks like I'm not the only one with the problem judging by this review:

Thanks for the suggestion but I'm pretty sure I have tried that and still no go.

"Pretty sure" ? There is some uncertainty in your mind as to whether or not you opened up your NES and started snipping pins?

One thing from my experience was that the Aladdin Deck Enhancer did not work in the toploader at all. But it worked in my frontloader.

Sounds odd, but if six years has passed since he last tried to get it going, I suppose one could now be unsure. Especially if it's not unusual for him to open up his electronics from time to time to make repairs, modifications, adjustments, and so on.

When I snipped my pin on one of my NES system's lockout chips, I didn't bother soldering in a wire like some site show. Is there any benefit to soldering that wire? It seems like the job is already done.
