Question Would I be missing out if I play MYST IV: Revelation if I've never played Riven or Exile?

Hey guys. I noticed that I own MYST IV: Revelation for the XBOX. I was thinking about starting it soon since I've been reading Myst: The Book of Atrus which I picked up at a yard sale earlier this year. Anyway, the book has gotten me interested in the series again but I haven't played a MYST game since the original, which I played through the 3DO version of back when it was new. Since I've never played the second or third MYST game, I'm wondering if it's worth tracking them down and playing them before I play Revelation, or if they're like most Final Fantasy games in that it doesn't matter what order you play them in since they don't really follow each other?

You'd be missing the point behind a portion of the story, but it's still completely playable by itself.
