    Default 3DS XL repair service?

My friend's kid dropped his 3DS XL pretty good and I'm hoping it's fixable!

Right hinge might be able to be glued but it's a stress point so not sure if it'd hold.

Looks like it needs the ribbon cable on the left and whatever it hinges on.

I know a used one can be had for $150 or so... but I think in the right hands this wouldn't be hard at all!

Anyone know of a reputable (if any!) repair service?

the right hinge might be broken off but the left pin is missing too so a whole new case, ribbon cable and the labor to get it all done a used one for $150 might be cheaper.
repair of things like these are really only cheap if you know how to do it your self other wise its kind of like taking your car to the mechanic.

you know its gonna cost a lot to have them do it

The parts cost is about $100
    1 top LCD
    1 Sound cable
    1 Shell
    1 Camera
I repair these things for a living. You would be better off selling for parts and buying a used unit.

Remember only Nintendo can recover the eShop account and/or Nintendo Network ID. Buying used you'll have to get them to do it remotely.

I've repaired these as part of my job too at one point. He's right. Getting those ribbon cables to fit back into the hinge properly is enough to drive anyone mad.

You'd almost have to buy a complete pre-assembled top half of the 3DS... which is easier, but probably not cost effective.

Actually that might be the most cost effective option if he is confident enough. Motherboards and bottom screens are worth enough to balance the cost so he could buy a cheap one off Ebay board swap but it doesn't take much of a screw up to rip the top LCD ribbon cable or break the connector on the board side both of which are worse than the hinge headache. When I get a system in like this I usually offer to switch their motherboard into a working unit and give them a discount for part of the value of the parts left over, but that isn't practical here.
